Next coach at Florida?

Featured Replies

As soon as the job opened the 1st name that popped in my mind was Stoops. Makes too much sense IMO. That's my 1st choice for them.

Gruden was a thought...I think he's learning a lot by watching all the NFL teams though and he was a Tenn guy.

Kelly is interesting IMO. Wide open offense with Florida athletes = scary to play!

TCU? Petrino has the offense but I sure as heck wouldn't want my kid playing for him!

Best job in the country IMO other than possibly SoCal or Texas.

1. Bobby Petrino

2. Kyle Whittingham (Utah again)

3. Chip Kelly

4. Dan Mullen

5. Charlie Strong (I doubt they go the assistant route with Strong or Mullen though)

Knowing the luck UofL has had with coaches, it wouldn't shock me if they lose Strong before he ever coaches a game though. It'd be par for the course.

For some strange reason I keep thinking Spurrier.

What bad luck have they had with coaching hires lately?

Depends on what type of bad luck you want to talk about. Personally, I miss the old bad luck, where they would hire a good coach and lose them to a bigger school. The lastest bad luck was hiring a Koach that didn't fit.:isurrender:

I left off the most obvious choice, Bob Stoops.:ohbrother:

Pats, how about Gary Patterson? Dude can coach. Also Kyle/Peterson/Bobby/Stoops I wouldn't touch ND didn't/ Musgrave, how long does he wait for the Horns, in fact he could leave anytime.

Prayers for Coach Urban and his family.

It will be Wittingham or Shannahan IMO.

BK was the hottest name on the market. I hope UF does not discount the potential value of someone like Petersen, Patterson or Whittingham. I think what they've done is amazing and it would be interesting to see what they could do at a program like UF.

Patterson would be a home run, totally forgot that name. He's poised to land somewhere big soon.

Back in 03 we hired Coach Fran and CGP was his DC, we really wanted him too. In looking back we picked the wrong Frog.

What about Chris Petersen? Any coach who can recruit talent to Boise, Idaho has to be special.

Just ask Colorado... :idunno:

Dan Hawkins is ducking from GT's shot.
