So...My Son Got Hit By A Deer

Featured Replies

Just got back from the hospital about an hour ago. It happened, oddly enough, just 10 or 20 feet from in front of the local hospital entrance. He's fine, just required 4 stitches. The stupid thing ran right smack into the drivers side door shattering the window. He said it reminded him of being blindsided when he played football. He had some glass in his eye, but no damage to the eye, thank God. I'm just grateful he wasn't seriously injured, the car is just material and can be fixed.

So, move over TB&G, you have company now. You ran over a deer and my son got ran over by one.

The buck was an eight pointer, btw. A Fort Thomas officer had to put the deer down.

Glad to hear that your son is all right.:thumb: This will no doubt make for great conversation for many a year.

Glad he's ok. :thumb:

Deer really scare me, always worried about something like this when riding home from work at night on the motorcycle. I would often do it in the summer around this time of night.

Birdfan has the squirrels and the RTS family has the deer now.:p

Seriously though, I'm glad everything is OK.

Glad to hear he's ok. Back strap for supper?

I am so glad that he wasn't hurt anymore than he was. Deers on the highway are scary. I have never had a deer run out onto the road before until the other night.....we were driving home (I was driving) and we were coming up hwy 62...when MrRK said...Dear..Dear...I thought, "well how sweet is he calling me Dear". Then out of the corner of my eye I saw too "little" deers headed right toward my car.....Not DEAR....but DEER. before they got to my door it looked as if they tumbled down onto the ground......they didn't want to hit me anymore than I wanted them to......

I am happy to hear your son is good. WOW an adventure to remember. I worry about dear on the road and my own son out driving enough as it is!!!

I'm so glad that he is okay! His incident sounds so much scarier (and more dangerous) than my episode.

Years ago, a friend of mine's mom had the same thing happen, but it was a horse instead of a deer! The mom...and the horse...were both unharmed.

Glad to hear no serious injuries. This opens up the hunting issue in Fort Thomas again for sure. Take a picture of your son, the car and the 8 pointer and take it to the next council meeting when they are discussing allowing bow hunting to help thin the herd. I could care less about deer eating my flowers, but when they put people in danger than it becomes an issue.

Glad to know he wasn't hurt.

Never had that happen, but I would imagine the shear shock and surprise would be enough that I would have a cornary!

Glad everyone is ok!

Glad he is okay!!!

Good new Christmas song. "Run To State's son got ran over by a reindeer."

Glad he's ok, we had it happen 2 years ago next month. Just remind him how stupid deer are, I think of how dumb they are ofter after it happened to us!
