CCC, Bama played a very good Clemson team last year opening game, this year Va. Tech who was ranked in the top 8. We are not crazy about opening against strong teams, we were lucky to play well the past two years. Bama also played three very weak teams and like a lot of teams who do the same.

 

We tried to get ND to play us but it fell thru, but we are gonna play Penn State the next couple of years.

 

Like I said, we would love to play BSU in the BCSCG next year, we have a lot coming back next year and they return 21 of 22 starters.

Show me a link where Flordia or Alabama or Texas had a rep say no thanks. Other wise I could arguee that Boise is afraid to play Vanderbilt. Alot of teams have motto's but that does not mean they have went after these schools and they refused. That means they say the motto hoping Flordia, Alabama, & Texas don't take them up on it.

Didn't Texas recently play a home and home with Ohio State. Next year they begin a home and home with UCLA (who is down, but if the schedules are made like Notre Dame's may not have been when the game was agreed upon.) after that they have a home and home with Ole Miss, followed by a home and home with Cal. Every team is going to play some cupcakes. That schedule is nothing to complain about in my opinion.

 

Florida does play Florida State every year. They have been down, but this has to potential to be a monster game, if FSU continues to right the ship. They have also added South Florida and Miami in the next few years. Add that to the SEC and their schedule is plenty tough.

But they do play good competition in confrence. Why do they need to schedule good out of confrence games whn they play good teams in confrence? I know they both played some softies when it comes down to out of confrence, but when your confrence is lcaking (such as the MWC) you need to toughen up the OOC schedule. When the confrence is stronger (SEC & Big 12) you can ease up on the OOC schedule. You honestly think Bosie's schedule compares to that of Alabama or Flordia's?

 

I just feel like the entire body of work must be considered and with the teams Boise beat I don't think they deserve to play for a National Championship.

Yeah, because the Big 12 was so tough this season.

-OU- not good at all this season, but they did have alot of injuries

-Nebraska- one of the best defenses in the country, to go along with one of the worst offenses

-OK State- They sure looked top notch in their bowl game :lol:.

and the list goes on and on. Big 12 isn't that tough, and never is. It's usually OU or Texas winning it, so it can't be that tough for them IMO.

 

SEC is the SEC, but it doesn't excuse playing 3 creampuffs in OOC, if you're a team like UF or LSU IMO. How many ranked teams did UF play in conference? Thanks.......

1. I think I mentioned somewhere where Texas played OSU. But, this season was only like the 10th time that they have left Texas to play an OOC game in like the last 30 years, or at least that what I thought they said when they went to Wyoming.

2. Do not give me the UF garbage. Added Miami? Are you kidding me? The U and UF meet in 2013, and according to Foley he isn't looking to add any other games with Miami in the future. Best program in America shouldn't be afraid of anyone, let alone their rivals. They are afraid of the U and that's a fact, as they won't even take the game every 3 or 4 years in the future. I have no reason to not suspect they are afraid to play Boise as well.

3. USF was only added IMO, because everyone else in Florida plays each other. USF thinks of itself as having the potential to become one of the bigger programs in Florida and could get there soon IMO.

 

I will give you Texas because I don't know anything about them, but I refuse to concede to you that UF is willing to schedule people. When's the last time they played someone OOC? FSU doesn't count cause they have to play them. Miami doesn't count because they're only willing to play on a rare occasion. Have you seen any good teams come into the swamp? No, it's always someone like the Citadel, Troy, WKU, or some other school that's only worried about a big pay day and has no shot to beat the Gators.

 

Foley's excuse is that they need an extra home game every year, but Boise is offering to come anywhere. We'll see if they extend the invitation. I know and promise you they won't. If UF invites Boise in 2011, I'll probably buy you two tickets, air fair and provide you with a hotel in Gainesville. Should happen right after pigs fly and El Diablo is shoveling snow.

I just think that it doesn't hurt to go on the road once in a while. IMO, teams should have to have at least one road OOC game, which for UF would count when FSU is the home team in their series. And if you're going to stay home why not have a game against Boise? That would be great publicity for the University, and given how "dominant" the SEC is shouldn't UF feel confident about beating Boise? UF played only one team in the regular season that ended up ranked at the end of the season I believe.

Another thing to consider is that Boise St. is actively seeking games against strong OOC opponents because they have to in order to get any chance of getting into the title games. Going undefeated in the WAC will not impress anybody. Florida, Bama, Texas do not have that same problem.

 

Hopefully some day all the BSC conferences will go to 12 teams and the TCU, Boise, Utah's of the world will get an invite. If that happens I bet you see a change with their scheduling philosophy.

^Exactly. Thats' why I just don't see how we can penalize teams like Boise when the big teams will not play them and have no incentive to play them.

I think Bama's Dline is a bad matchup for Texas Oline. Both teams are two of the tops in the nation but not dominant like some we have seen. I look for Bama to win by a couple of scores.

I heard that Shaun might be on the sidelines. Boy hope I can sleep tonite. Went to the library today and rented several movies for tomorrow, and having a bible study/BGPs/Bama sites, going to be a long day.

 

This could be the last time we are in the position. 1993 was the last time. Some schools never get a chance. I have witnessed 1961/1964/1965/1973/1978/1979/1993

 

Back in 1980 I called a local radio sports show and talked about Bama. The host told me to call more often because he gets so much basketball talk. So I did and developed a relationship with the show. I called until he retired and the guy who replaced him also let me call in.

 

There were other shows that I talked on and played sports trivia. In 1993 I called the show every week and picked us to win every games and we did. I have those on tape, boy did I sound goofy.

 

Over the years I have met a lot of folks who have stopped me and asked if I was the Bama nut they hear on the radio. I even called Fox Sports radio a nation wide show last Saturday and spoke with Chris Landry, a super scout for football.

 

Win or lose I'll still behind my school and will give my imputs on BGPs the next days and so and get ready for recruiting in February.
