I am so excited to be a UK fan right now! This game just made this week that much sweeter! Of to MYC Monday to Watch the Cats play UCONN! love my life right now!

I love how this UK team can block shots.

 

One other note, why does Cousins shot the ball every time he gets it?!

Love Cal telling Clark Kellogg that "we are not a very good team right now" in his post game interview. Hey Hubert Davis.......................well, you know.

Because he thinks he can make it every time :ohbrother:. Love the way Wall played in the first half. No one in the country will stop him. When he left the team looked completely different. Even when he came back he wasn't 100%. Bledsoe did a great job knocking down clutch free throws. I like the way Ramon played defense today and came up with a couple big rebound in the 2nd half. Patterson = animal. He only takes good looks which is what this team needs to learn, and they did that today.

Crow...the other dark meat. Hope all you non believers enjoy it.

What a great feeling to know that this team stepped it up against a top tier basketball team and won the game. I was looking to see what they would do and how they would react to playing a good team nd I am pleased with the answer!

U.K. did make some freshman mistakes for sure, so did UNC but the thought of what this U.K team can be by tournament time is scary......for everyone else.

Wall was again just unbelievable in the 1st half and he was still better than most in the 2nd half when was playing and cramping up. I still believe that Patterson is the glue for this team, 19pts. + 7 reb. to lead the Cats. Wall would have led in scoring if not out for a while but imo Patterson is the leader of this team and will be a constant go to man this season.

Also, it was great to see the rafters shaking and Rupp Arena exploding again!!!

UConn is up next in Madison Square Garden!!!

This team will be GREAT when they learn that hard to find balance between attacking and still taking good looks at the basket.

I did pick UNC to win (I thought they were more advanced than U.K. at this point) but in no way am I or was I a non believer. I don't think anyone else was either, just that we were not "there" yet (and we are stiil not as good as we can or will be :sssh:). I am thrilled to eat crow on this one.

UK pulled it out I was shocked when I saw the halftime score and UK blowing Carolina out. UK is farther along than I expected at this point though.

Got scared toward the end, but pulled out the win against a fairly experienced team. Even though the Tar Heels lost four leading scorers off their National Title squad, they still have more McD's guys on the roster than any team in the country. They are also still coached by one of the best.

 

 

Can't say how much this win means to Kentucky. As a team, as a fan base, just all the way around huge win and something this program has needed going forward. The way they looked in the first half made you almost want to shed a tear. High energy, high talent basketball that should have had you out of your seat, jumping around and doing rapid fist pumps. I know it made me anyway. I think the first half of this game is a glimpse of what this team could look like in March/April. At least I hope so.

 

 

 

So let the celebration begin. In what should be a very enjoyable day of sports. Florida/Bama, among other Championship football games. Then ultimate fighter finale tonight on Spike. Should be a great day, and what better way to get it started than a win for the Real Big Blue (not sissy blue), and one that was way past due against the dirty feets.

UK's outlet passing in the first half was awesome. I thought UNC did a better job defending that out let passing in the second half. That combined with Wall going down with cramps for a while is why this one was close.

I believe if Wall doesn't get cramps this game would have been a double digit coast-down-the stretch type game. He's unreal!!
