Brian Billick's name keeps getting brought up in rumor mills. I don't think he would be a good fit in ND. He doesn't have the personality to be a coach at ND these days. ND needs a guy like Calipari basically.

True. I agree. I just don't think the Stoops think seems like it's going to work out. Maybe he feels disrespected a bit? You know he didn't get the kind of offer that Urban was rumored to be offered. At least I wouldn't think he'd get all of that.

I think Urban would be a great fit, just not sure if he wants it or not. BTW, how many Popes have their been named Urban? I know atleast 2 or 3. Just found that to be kinda interesting when considering Meyer for the ND job.

I think it, and this is just my theory, that the Stoops stuff is just a distraction. They cannot offer Urban right now obviously, the more his name gets brought up the more he has to deny it and he could get fed up or have no choice but to stay at UF. I think they are just trying to lengthen the process for the right time. Again this is just my theory, I just think they are going to have to at least make a great offer to Urban. Stoops, BK, Harbaugh are great, but they cannot compare to Urban, at least for now IMO. Urban is a slam dunk, just about everyone else has question marks. Unless they could get a Dungy or Gruden of course.

 

I am not sure how Dungy would do in the college game, but I think that Gruden would flourish in South Bend.

Which is why it has to be Meyer IMO, or bust. He's not as savvy as Cal, but I think he gets the same results. He sells his program very well and kids want to play for him. Cal is more of a smooth talker, where as Meyer is very upfront and people think of his as an honest, hard worker that cares about his players.

Incentives that looked like he would make around 8 million if he won a MNC.

 

Basically, a sick amount of cash. But, 3 BCS Bowls in 10 years and he would almost pay for himself though.

Highly unlikely from what I am hearing at this point. They higher ups have said no apparently, so for now his name is out of the mix...

Forde makes me laugh. I guess he knows a lot about stepping stone programs down there in Louisville. It is funny though to take a look at the ties of the media members begging BK to go to ND. Mark May? Pitt. Forde? UL. Herbie? OSU. I wonder why those guys would want him out of Cincinnati so bad... :idunno:

I've thought all along that Kelley would be ND's top choice. I mean who in their right mind, that is looking for a coach, wouldn't want the man. He is a winner. Everyone with an opening should be calling him.
