November 29, 200916 yr Rumors swirling everywhere about this going down very soon. As I mentioned yesterday in the Weis thread I heard about this at the UC/Illinois game from a highly respected national source, and it ran today on ESPN Insider and on Scout that there has been contact and a meeting between the two sides could happen as early as tomorrow. Just figured I'd pass it along...

As I also said yesterday, the word going around is that ND wants a defensive minded coach first and foremost, which has Kelly farther down their list than most are speculating...
November 29, 200916 yr I could see Stoops making this least. From what I've heard, he isn't liked by a few people too well in Oklahoma. And like Spurrier told him, "a decade is about as long as you should stay in one place."

I don't think it does. They have their own TV network, and clear all of the money made from their bowls. FWIW, Herbstreit just said on air that he talked to both Mike and Bob Stoops about Stoops to ND, and that the reports were more or less rumors, that no one from Notre Dame has contacted Stoops.

The contact made has been with his representation. The first contact with Stoops would be the meeting with the ND AD that could happen as soon as tomorrow...

November 29, 200916 yr I just wish the Irish would get a quality coach. College football is better when Notre Dame is winning. IMO. Of course i am and Irish fan.
