Bell Co. decided not to kick a fg deep in BC territory in the 3rd, looks like that came back to haunt them.

 

LC, I know you weren't there so let me add to this just a bit. It would have been about a 30 yarder and while Hilton had made one early in the game, he didn't look impressive doing it and had also banked in an extra point in the second quarter. Certainly could have tried a field goal, but I really don't think they could have made it. They were in a bit of no-man's land.

I agree, I was actually hoping they would try and kick it.

Bell County couldn't score during the final drive, but I absolutely loved how Dudley didn't leave any bullets in the gun. A flea-flicker and a halfback pass really were nice plays, although the latter didn't work.

 

These two teams are absolutely fantastic on the defensive side of the ball. The biggest thing to me was the rushing improvement in the second half by Boyle (MacShara). Those carries by MacShara that were getting 2 yards in the first half began getting 4 yards in the second half. The third downs were much more manageable and Boyle was able to sustain drives better.

It seemed like every rush for MacShara in the first half was right up the middle. Dad kept saying they needed to pitch/sweep with him and there might be a few more yards. Obviously he was right.

What a game!!! Another classic between evenly matched teams. The defense really stepped it up after the 1st quarter and the offense eeked out just enough yards to pull out the W. Having a son on the team, I gotta admit this was a HUGE win for the TTC household!

WOW what a war between two warriors. Bell has a very very nice football team.

I thought in the second half Boyles O line really took it to Bells defense.

The game was absolutely all it was billed to be.

 

Rees ran the ball with authority in the second half.

From one of the guys that keeps the stats said that Rees had 182 yards on 34 carries. Only 2 FGS made all year and boy where they big. Good job Rebs and a great year for Bell Co. Hope to see you next year.
