Wow, they are going to beat one of the worst BCS programs (overall not this season) in America. UK has improved but it's hardly a marquee win to beat them.

After saying he was going to sing Rocky Top all night long after they beat the Gators I don't see how. Kiffin runs his mouth, but I like him. I think it is ridiculous to talk smack to UK. Did Mack Brown say anything about Baylor? I forgot about all the smack Jim Tressell talked about Indiana.

 

It doesn't offend me, I just don't understand it. UK hasn't beaten UT in any of these players lives, so what is the point? Talk smack about a rival, though UK fans want to think of UT as a rival they aren't. You have to win a few games here and there for it to be a rivalry IMO.

 

What was moot? The fact that Kiffin is a classless jerk? I think he is a good coach, but you have to do something before you can run your mouth IMO. Tennessee hasn't been a National Player in sometime, and yes that includes two years ago when the backed into the SEC East Title.

 

Why do you think he is a jerk? Heck if I was him I would run my mouth as well since we are both the same age. I'm sure he isn't looking to make friends in the SEC. Yeah they did back into the title game but they were still there!

They way Kiffin has carried himself off the field makes him seem as a jerk. Bragging about stealing "New Keys" Richardson from UF. Saying he was going to beat UF (what a joke this season) and accused them of cheating when he was the one breaking NCAA rules. Talking smack to and about other coaches including Nick Saban. Real model citizen.

 

I have no problem with arrogance, heck I cheer for the team that invented swagger. But, I can't stand it when it's unfounded. He is a good coach, but nothing he has done warrants the things he has said. He was hired by the Raiders as a publicity stunt IMO, and was fired in an embarrassing fashion. He did a good job at USC, but most on this board could get some of their teams in the endzone on a consistent basis. He has done a great job so far at UT, but it's not like they are world beaters. It's just really tired and kind of pathetic. There are alot better coaches than him that go about their business in a more professional way. Urban Meyer seems like a snake in the grass but he seems like the Pope compared to Kiffin. AND I LIKE KIFFIN. I THINK HE DOES AN AMAZING JOB. But, he is a jerk from what we've seen in the public sphere.

Does this guy learn? I mean what has happened the times he has decided to open his mouth. It sounds like the UK players are focused and are playing with a purpose, and turning this once dismal season around.

Talking trash to UK is pathetic from a program like Tennessee. Lane can't beat Bama or UF so he has to talk garbage to a team that hasn't beat his program in nearly 3 decades. Spurrier all over again.

Lane Tiffin is no more than a John Gruden wannabe. I am not a UT fan, but their history speaks for itself, and they could have done a LOT better.

Lane better be glad he has daddy around, the real brains for the Vols.:sssh:
