I guess I'm the only one that is going to be real here. Great kid. Great Family.

Tremendous talent. But his numbers aren't there this year. Why all the accolades for a kid that hasn't played a lot of D this year and is in the wrong offensive position for what ever reason. Should have stayed at receiver. Numbers aren't there for running back all state or any other offensive awards and as far as Defensive he has been hurt and hasn't played a great deal.

The kid is amazing to watch running the ball. He is very fast and has great field vision. His size for RB is right there with many other HS Rb's at 6'1 190lbs. His numbers per game are very good, he is a WINNER period. Unfortunately he did miss some games but injuries are part of the game, ask Mr. Simpson over at SK. If the award is simply handed out to someone that plays the RB postiion or QB position all 3 yrs and blows up the statistics by playing lesser opponents then I would probably give it to Hayden at LCA. Outside of that I think the award is either going to go to Miles Simpson/ Austin Collinsworth or McShara. There is something to be said about being a 2 time STATE CHAMPION, all stater at 2 different positions and probably soon to be 3rd. We can all say he doenst deserve it because his numbers are down but IMO he is right there in the running still because of his overall accomplishements.

Tim Tebow's numbers are not like last year's I do not believe. Objectively other players are putting up better numbers than Tebow and should be getting more attention for the Heisman trophy this year, yet Tebow is constantly mentioned. I hear the Collinsworth's name was mentioned on national T.V.? How many players from KY get that attention? It's great for the state of KY (Would his Dad being a former NFL player and announcing NFL games on T.V. have something to do with that?). Although other players may have better numbers in KY this year, I think it would be hard to take Collinsworth out of the discussion for Mr. Football.

Obviously you havn't seen him play. He's a threat to take it all the way anytime he gets the ball.

I think at receiver he's not just one of the best in the state but likely one of the best in the country. I think at running back he has the potential to be one of the best in the state. As for Mr. Football its not about if or buts its about what you did this year. AC has all the talent in the world and his team is one of if not the best team in the state but he just didn't play enough IMO to get Mr. Football. His team is going to succeed with or without him.

This kid is as good as it gets in high school football. With total respect to Simpson and everyone else out there Austin deserved this award. Austin can play multiple positions and is probably the best D1 prospect out on the field. He is a great kid and is really down to earth. You might think because his dad is big time that he would be and that's the complete opposite. I have run into him a few times and he has always been very nice. As for Mr. Football I don't think he wil win it because he did miss too many games and there are other great player in the State that may deserve it. One of my high school teammates won this award a few years back and its a fun little banquet. You get to meet and eat lunch with Paul and pick his brain a little. If it hasn't changed it's also the same day as the Johnny Unitas award dinner. We were lucky enough to go to both so Austin should have a blast and enjoy every minute of it.

IMO the position he plays in college will depend on what conference he plays in. He needs to put on some more weight and muscle but that will come with the weight lifting programs.

Numbers in my opinion mean nothing because their are so many variables that affect them. As far as being in the wrong position, I don't think there is a wrong position for AC. This young man is an athlete, he will contribute anywhere Coach Mueller puts him. You mention injuries, I know for a fact that Austin has played many games while injured. He's a tough kid and there isn't a coach in the country that wouldn't like to have him . As far as not playing D ? The talent pool at HHS is very deep, I think that says it all!

This award could have just as easily gone to him as well, you couldn't go wrong w/ either player. Congrats to Austin.
