Before someone starts comparing who each team beat and by how much, please realize that it does not matter and has no bearing on the outcome of this game. St. X rolls on by 3TD's minimum in their quest to meet Trinity in BG.

 

I believe comparing scores just shows X is far from invincible like some seem to believe...By comparing scores I see that SK is more than capable of giving X all they want and with 18 year old young men fighting for what they dream about in a state title I'll take SK with the upset because they sure don't earn much respect for the offensive firepower and timely defense they have possessed all season long!!!

 

X beat manual by a TD and Sk beat the by a TD and FG...X beat Butler 35-7 and SK beat them 49-7...X beat boone 49-0 and SK beat them 63-21...This theory doesn't always hold true when comparing similar oppenents but I believe your way off base by saying SK has NO chance...NO chance that this game is blowout like you seem too think it will be!!!:ylsuper:

It looks as if X and T have turned it up a notch the last couple of weeks. I believe X is too strong and fast for SK, and will hold Simpson in check.

When the stadium was built there were questions about the visitor's seating, and it was indicated that there was substantial room for temporary seating. Haven't heard anything since. How many will SK bring? I missed the Ryle game because I was out of town. How many did Ryle bring, and how was the seating?

I would love to see SK pull off the upset here and will be rooting hard for them. That being said, I don't think it's going to happen. You have to witness St. X's speed firsthand to really appreciate it. And I understand the SK faithful will say they are "fast" also. Well so is Ryle. But we are talking about two different levels of speed and the level that St. X is on is simply remarkable. Nonetheless, best of luck to SK this coming weekend. Maybe a few good breaks happen and this becomes the year the championship comes to NKY!

7500 seating with plenty of concourse areas for standing.

I don't know if they were looking ahead, Manual just played a solid game and offensively we couldn't move the chains for most of the first half. The 2nd half was a different team, they did a solid job on defense and moved the chains on offense.

 

I agree with this post concerning the slow start by SK and Miles against Manual. Sometimes you have to give credit to your opponent. Manual is probably the best team SK has seen all year (sorry, Raider fans). I think it took SK and Miles that first half to find what they needed to do against a very tough opponent. It has nothing to do with not giving 100% as some have suggested. I guarantee you everyone on SK was giving 100%. They just faced a very tough opponent and had to reach deeper to find what they needed to do to win.

 

Manual was a perfect lead in game to St. X. The St. X. fans will tell you how tough a team Manual is. SK is healthy and ready for their game of the year. SK has more weapons offensively than Miles and they will score against X. But I see them needing to get 35 against X to win and, as good as their offense is, I am just not sure they can do that. The most points X has given up this year is 24. But the thing that would give me hope if I am a SK fan is they gave up those 24 to Cinti. St. X whose offense leaves a lot to be desired. So SK has to find a way to get into the 30's against X and the SK defense has to play their best game of the year to hold X below that. If I am SK, I try to play ball control to limit X's possessions and hope my offense can produce the points needed to get the win.

Well, St. X is clearly the substantial favorite, but upsets do happen and SK is a good enough team to beat St. X if the Tigers have a sub-par showing. I still think St. X has too much.

This is going to be a great game!!! I think SK has a shot at this, but have to play nearly perfect. As for X, I hope they don't think they can bring their B game and still advance. It's going to be one of their toughest games to date this year!

If St. Xavier brings their "B" game they win by 10+....

NKY fans the visitor's bleachers are like those in pee wee football, so get there early if you want to see any part of the game.

The total "seating capacity" of the stadium is 6,100...5,100 on the home side and 1,000 on the visitors side. There is also a monstrous amount of standing room. Concessions and restrooms are available on both sides, so you don't have far to walk. I had been telling people all week before the Ryle game about the speed of St. X., but many chose not to believe. Like you noted above, cooperstown, it's hard to believe until you've seen it in person.
