If it were Trinity, I'd give SK a better chance, but, St X seems to be on another level than the rest of 6a. SK may hang around for awhile, but, ultimately, X's depth wears them down...St X 42 SK 21

 

I'd have to agree all around. My guess was going to be 35-14, but 21 points is 21 points.

I don't know that this is entirely true. You might be referring mostly to Trinity. Trinity has taken its lumps, but I would not count them out. Manual has played better, I think, than previous years. Male has not had the same results as some previous years and Ballard might be better; yet Male beat them last night. Butler started with one of its best years in awhile. Fern Creek finished strong. St. X is strong. Desales has been playing well in its class.

I love what SK has done/is doing this year, and I think Simpson deserves to be Mr. Kentucky Football, but I'm pulling for St. X to win this and advance in the 6A playoffs. St. X is the only 6A team that can derail Trinity in the playoffs this season. I just don't see SK or any other 6A team doing it right now.

Well you may be right, but we've heard that Trinity is not tops in 6A (old 4A) for the past few years and yet Trinity always seems to be the team lifting up the large-school state trophy in December.

 

The thing I want to see most this postseason is for Highlands to win state; the second thing I want to see this postseason is a team other than Trinity win state... I feel pretty confident that St. X has a better chance of beating Trinity than anyone else in 6A, like Simon Kenton, Male, Henderson County, Scott County, Greenwood or Henry Clay...

I don't believe it's right (or wise) to disrespect any team. And knowing you, is why I was surprised at your coments.

 

NKY Big Schools have been crowing for years about how talented they are and how good they are and it has never translated to victories. Outside of an amazing game by Dixie in 2004 it hasn't happened. Boone County hasn't done it, Conner hasn't done it, Ryle hasn't done it and SK hasn't done it.

 

Since when do I have to sit here in the circle and smoke the same pipe that everyone else is in regards to SK?

 

 

 

Here, this is just for the SK fans and all the NKY big school fans:

 

"Golly gee, this ought to be an amazing game between to of the best teams in the state. St.X and Simon Kenton better both be at the top of their game..." and so on you know the usual platitudes folks think are required when discussing a team that has yet to really prove its mettle against the powers on 6A.

While I know I am annoying people for not giving SK their due since they are apparently nearly deities in their football playing ability, I think the Tigers will jump ahead early and contain Simpson forcing them to try to go to the air, which will result in a pick or two.

 

Note I said Contain Simpson, not stop him. He is good enough to not be stopped, if the Tigers hold him to under 100 yards and maybe 1 TD I consider that containing him. :thumb:
