I agree with this post concerning the slow start by SK and Miles against Manual. Sometimes you have to give credit to your opponent. Manual is probably the best team SK has seen all year (sorry, Raider fans). I think it took SK and Miles that first half to find what they needed to do against a very tough opponent. It has nothing to do with not giving 100% as some have suggested. I guarantee you everyone on SK was giving 100%. They just faced a very tough opponent and had to reach deeper to find what they needed to do to win.

 

Manual was a perfect lead in game to St. X. The St. X. fans will tell you how tough a team Manual is. SK is healthy and ready for their game of the year. SK has more weapons offensively than Miles and they will score against X. But I see them needing to get 35 against X to win and, as good as their offense is, I am just not sure they can do that. The most points X has given up this year is 24. But the thing that would give me hope if I am a SK fan is they gave up those 24 to Cinti. St. X whose offense leaves a lot to be desired. So SK has to find a way to get into the 30's against X and the SK defense has to play their best game of the year to hold X below that. If I am SK, I try to play ball control to limit X's possessions and hope my offense can produce the points needed to get the win.

Yes he was the offensive RT and starting NG. He was more than a handful for every center this year and often he would draw a double team or double slip to the MLB. This made their blitzes much more effective.

Why look down your nose at NKY teams like that? Not only does it make you look really bad, it sets you up for a nice big plate of crow when a NKY team does finally beat the mighty ones. Simon Kenton has been steadily improving the past few years. Soon, I think they will be giving you all you want in competition. In any case, it's never a good thing to blatantly disrespect other teams. :irked:

I give respect to teams that have earned it or have a reputation deserving.

 

HHS has that and Dixie Heights earned my respect years ago. SK has never scored on the Rocks and no big school from NKY has done anything to prove to me that they deserve the nod with the big boys(no matter the class).

 

If you think it makes me look bad then go right ahead. You have known me long enough BF to know that people's opinions of me have never made a bit of a difference to me. That was Ryles problem and will be SK's problem also in that players going both ways will not work againstX. #34 fror Ryle and #4 And #84 all looked slow and tired the second half. Not much competition for the Tigers due to their depth.

You do understand that almost every year we have to deal with this talk of "this is our year", "we are more diverse this year", "we have the hunger"...etc....and almost every single time they turn out in lopsided victories, so until someone changes that, you have to earn the respect.

Back to the game. I have a question for the people from the Ville. How good is Manual??? The game I watched last night, if not for some (almost all) dropped passes Manual should have won. IMO. So I'm thinking if Manual is not a good team how will S.K. be able to hang with X?? I hope this question dosn't upset S.K. fans, just being real.

The Manual/X game, X came out like they were going to blow Manual out. I think the score was 21-0 with 3:00 to go in the 1st qtr. Their drives were all the big play variety if I remember correctly. X opened the game with a double pass trick play to get Manual off balance. Once the game settled down it was a hard fought game.

 

Also remember that Manual held T to 27 and X to 28.

 

I think that X will win the game by 17 pulling away in the 4th qtr.

Maybe...but we got'em last season.....listen the team, coach's and fans RESPECT these young men, maybe I worded it poorly, but to consider them a legit threat, I would say they have to earn it first. DH did it in '04.....SK needs to show they can be a threat, and until they show they can, I won't believe they can. Again, sorry for poor word usage.
