November 8, 200916 yr If Clausen, Tate, & Floyd come back and Meyer/Kelly comes, I think Notre Dame will be preseason choice for MNC. Too much talent for this team to lose 3 games, let alone to Navy. Hopefully they make a run at Meyer. With Saint Tebow departing it would be a great time to walk away from what he has done at UF...
November 8, 200916 yr Weis will be gone at the end of the year. Now the question is who will replace him? I think Meyer, Gruden, Kelly and maybe a guy like Paul Johnson will all get calls. I would be siked to see Kelly or Meyer. I think Gruden could either be another NFL coach who fails at the college level or will be the start of something great, like PC at USC.

November 8, 200916 yr Agreed. Roll Tide... :lol: True :thumb:. I think that after the season, ND has a decent shot at Meyer, if they want him. It's going to take a boat-load of money, but they can and most likely would be willing to pull it off.

They should be able to score on anybody, but you got to play defense, something that Charlie's recruiting really didn't address until last year. I don't think anybody on D older than the Soph class is worth a darn. Lots of promising young players on D though.
November 8, 200916 yr But it's the kids ND has to recruit with their higher academic standards and then Navy beats them 2 out of 3 kinda blows that excuse out of the water. Fat boy has been taking the heat the last year or two, not higher academic standards. The recruits are here, just need a coach.

November 8, 200916 yr I know Meyer is named after a Pope. I just don't see him leaving Gainesville. He has said in the past ND is his dream job, and honestly what does he have left to accomplish at Florida???

It looks to me like Notre Dame stopped the triple option for 43 years and then a savior like Weis (great talent, great recruiter, great coach:rolleyes:) comes to town and they can't beat Navy. There has to be the fault of the current coach in some way.
