And I think Ryle was the recipient of some horrible calls by the refs. The second half late hit penalty was a joke. You want to make that call, so be it, but let's make sure HHS gets the same call when they hit someone a yard out of bounds. And the offensive pass interference was utterly ridiculous.

 

Be clear that by no means am I claiming it affected the outcome of the game. The better team won. HHS is a terrific team. If Ryle played them ten times, we'd be lucky to win one. But it seems that playing at HHS' field generally means you end up on the short side of the penalty tally sheet.

 

That's total garbage.. Hempel gave an extra shove when the kid was 3yds out of bounds. It happened right in front of me. The offensive pass interference I didn't see. Believe me the Birds usually don't get any favors from the refs..If you haven't noticed the Birds don't have to many friends out there..

I want to call out one of the Ryle coaches. The short one with short hair and a big mouth. He made it a point to yell at his players on the sideline to "take out number 29!" "If you get a chance to take him out, take out number 29!" You sir, are a moron.

 

I was chastised the first game we played Ryle for pointing out his antics and was told he was a very nice guy, a preacher I believe. Though tonight I did not hear him say to take out any players he repeated many times that #29 for Highlands was a cheap shot artist.

 

All I have to say to you sir is that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. I'm sure you've heard that one before.

 

Wow, after such a hard fought game on both sides of the ball, you are complaining about someone that you know nothing about. The man that you are speaking of is a man of great integrity and honor. If you spent one hour with this man you would be a better person for it. He runs a non-profit ministry that does nothing but good things for people all over the world that are less fortunate than you and me. I find it offensive that you would make such unfounded statments about him; you should be ashamed! I don't know who you are referring to but I would bet my life on it that you have pointed out the wrong man.

Which late hit are you talking about where Hempel through Fennell to the telephone pole or Elliott took Towels down 4 yards out of bounds on the Highlands sidelines next to the official?

 

The PI on Bruns was questionable as well it wasn't a catchable ball.

And I can think of two plays that HHS should have been flagged - one a late hit and another in which the HHS defender dragged a Ryle player out of bounds no differently than Hempel's tackle.

I highly doubt that this man told any Ryle player to "take out" any HHS player. He's not that type of person and, unlike others in this thread, I know him very well.

Bruns is allowed to go for the ball too. He stepped up to go for the ball and barely made contact with the receiver when the ball was still thrown to hard for either of them to get too.

That's not even debatable..

What really upsets me at this point in the season with the Ryle team, coaches included, is their inability to stay focused on what is going on at any given moment. For instance, there were at least three times tonight that Ryle did not the correct number of players on the field. Sometimes too many, sometimes not enough. Totally inexcusable. Somebody is dropping the ball here.

Dude, you have the wrong person. The "short coach with short hair" who was accused of encouraging Ryle players to take out an HHS player is NOT the Ryle coach who is a minister. Maybe - MAYBE - he might have told Ryle players that #29 is a cheap shot artist. And my point is - SO WHAT? Maybe he saw something on the field that makes him think that. If you think that an HHS coach has never made a similar remark about an opponent, you're dreaming.

You guys need to compare better notes. First off, the "preacher" to whom you refer is not short in the slightest, so it certainly wasn't him to whom WhoozYoDaddy is referring about taking someone out. Secondly, the "antics" to which bjim refers last game was him loudly cheering on his team early in the game, which bjim someone found upsetting. Wow. Really over the top. If you find such "antics" so offensive, you should spend Friday nights watching golf or a tennis match. And honestly, before you go taking shots about someone you really don't know in the slightest, you should meet the man. A very classy, sincere, good man who runs an impressive ministry. But since you two seem to know so much about him, please fill us all in.

 

Well Copperstown I hate to burst your bubble, but the coach I talked about in the first game was the same guy yelling that #29 was a cheap shot artist. That's the plain and simple truth. I was vey close to him when he said it and saw the words leave his mouth. I only mentioned minister because it was mentioned in a post after the first game. Whether he is a minister or not I might be mistaken about, but I'm deadly accurate about what he said tonight during the game.

90% of coaches who think a player is doling out cheap shots will let their players know that said player has to be dealt with.
