I also believe that the refs at SOAS do a good job. Officiating is alot like coaching....you'll find some good ones and some bad ones. Overall they do a good job.

I have to agree with Rush 2112. Refs do a decent job as SOAS. I've seen a lot worse. Typically you get a pair of knowledgeable refs that hustle up and down the court and let the kids play.

Any scores to report from SOAS this past weekend:

7th Knights beat Rockets in an 8th grade matchup

5th grade Knights beat Legends

6th grade Knights beat Wildcats

I stopped out there yesterday and was quite surprised with the $4.00...That is ridiculous..I have a feeling MidWest is going to make it even harder for SOAS..

Is Midwest the old SOAS besides Boone County HS?

Cause if they are, admission this weekend was $5.00 and $12.00 for a family entry fee.

This game was a very good match up. I think Knights went on to win by about 10 or so, but it was very tight through out the game. Just got away from the Rockets at the end. I think the Rockets were missing a couple guys.

Yes, it is the old SOAS. WOW, $5.00 admission! I thought they were going to be cheaper. The $4.00 at SOAS Mt. Zion don't look too bad now!

Was this for an AAU league game or a tournament?

This was the 7th grade Knights. Not sure how that game "just gets away" from an 8th grade team playing a 7th grade team regardless of who they're missing.

Yes this is the 7th Grade Knights team. This team is very good. I believe the Knights (old Wolfpack) have been one of the best teams in the state for the past 2 or 3yrs. They can compete with almost any 8th Grade team in the league and are showing it this year. They haven't lost to an 8th Grade team yet. The talent and size they have is just as good as any of the 8th Grade teams. I'd put them against a few Freshman Teams in this area and would think they'd still win.

This team is very good. I would love to see them match up against the U14 NKY Tarheels. Maybe they will after school ball is over.

Ok, I am kind of out of the AAu loop since my boy is a frosh now and they cannot compete in AAU until after the school season. You guys gotta fill me in on who some of the standout players are on these teams you are mentioning. I am just not that familiar when you mention the team names. Thanks

The 8th grade Knights (not the team in the league) and 7th grade Knights haven't played but typically the 8th grade team wins by 20. No doubt the 7th grade team is good and are in fact one of the best in the state, however, except for the U14 NKY Knights and U14 NKY Tarheels, there are going to be few 8th grade teams that can beat them!

Rockets missing 5 regulars due to Parachoial tournament

Rockets missing 5 regulars due to Parachoial tournament

These things happen quite often (players missing due to other commitments). I am sure these two teams will get to face each other again (perhaps, more than once) when both teams are hopefully at full strength. Sounds like it will be a really good game.
