October 15, 200916 yr F-R-A-U-D spells Boise State!!! This team will get embarrassed in a BCS bowl. However, I didn't realize how young they are. Only 5 seniors on the roster. They could possibly be title contenders in a year or two depending on how everyone develops. Did you watch the whole game? Boise is head and shoulders better than Tulsa, but made some mistakes and didn't leave the foot on the gas. I could be wrong, but I expect Boise to play very well in a BCS Bowl should they make one.
October 15, 200916 yr They absolutely will get to a BCS bowl if they finish undefeated. Since they've added that fifth bowl, at least one team has gotten in from outside the power 6 conferences. October 15, 200916 yr Boise is incredibly overrated. It's like one of the announcers said during the game, they could beat a Florida or Alabama on a given Saturday but they couldn't beat Florida and Alabama on back to back Saturdays. They just couldn't cut it in a major conference.
October 15, 200916 yr I don't think Boise State could beat Alabama or Florida, but I do think on any given night Boise could beat any other team in the country. They are the best coached team in America when you consider their talent level.

Tulsa has led the nation in offense the past 2 seasons...I dont care who you are, that is impressive. As for BSU....I like them and an unbeaten UC team playing for TITLE!!:jump:

Don't we read these same comments every season around week 7? Posters brashly state that "Team X" will get beat handily in a BCS bowl. And then "Team X" goes out and wins - Boise over Oklahoma in 2006, Utah over Alabama in 2008. Of course then we look to make excuses as to why Oklahoma or Alabama didn't play well (their heads weren't in the game, didn't want to be there). My question is, why do we have to make a team-defining statement after watching one game on October 14? Most posters have likely now seen Boise twice, in wins over Oregon and Tulsa. But after two viewings we are prepared to make a final decision on what a team's future (no national championship) should be? There are eight weekends of football remaining and a million things could happen. Let's not write anybody off just yet.

They could catch the loser of the SEC title game just like Utah did last year and beat them. Texas has been less than impressive so far this year. They could beat whoever wins the Big 10, ACC, or Big East. They already beat the team I think will win the Pac 10.

Of course they could lose to anyone they play but I think they have one of the top 5 coaches in the nation and he would have them better prepared than the other team. Boise State has won some close games in the past during the regular season and still preformed very well on the national stage. The key is they won. I am sure those young men feel a little bit of pressure knowing they must win every single game to even have a shot of a BCS birth.

When you have a month to prepare for a team from the SEC or BIG 12 and you have all your players rested from mediocre competition the second half of your season compared to the SEC/Big 12 team whose players were beaten up the second half of the season and anything can and does happen.
