Original Rookie Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Not the "statement" the Broncos were hoping for. Tulsa is a pretty decent team though.

Original Rookie Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Oklahoma 45 Tulsa 0 Final. One game defines a team :idunno: Don't let the fact that Boise didn't cover cloud your view of reality.
Wireman Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 One game defines a team :idunno: Don't let the fact that Boise didn't cover cloud your view of reality. This game eliminates Boise from national title contention and in college football, one game does define a team.
Hearsay Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 They also gave up 40 points to Fresno State. I'm usually a win-is-a-win guy, but I agree with Wireman that Boise St. is ranked too high.

Wireman Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Not true at all. Well this game defined Boise's national title hopes...they are gone.

Boise falls in the 12-15 range if you ask me, but Tulsa is a pretty decent team in the grand scheme of things.

I think Boise should be ranked about 12th and see how everyone else shakes out. If they win out, they would be around shouting distance of talking about a title game, but last year's Utah team was much, much stronger.
Wireman Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Whatever slim chance they had is definitely gone after this one :thumb: Boise needed to win this one by 3-4 TD's to make a statement, IMO. They still might get in a BCS bowl if they finish undefeated.

They absolutely will get to a BCS bowl if they finish undefeated. Since they've added that fifth bowl, at least one team has gotten in from outside the power 6 conferences. It's a trendy pick each time, and they'll be there if they don't lose.

UKMustangFan Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 F-R-A-U-D spells Boise State!!! This team will get embarrassed in a BCS bowl. However, I didn't realize how young they are. Only 5 seniors on the roster. They could possibly be title contenders in a year or two depending on how everyone develops.
