Anyone still watching these? They are great. Last night I watched the Paul Westhead / Loyola Marymount story. Showing the footage of Gathers collapsing broke my heart.

 

There are a few I missed. I have the DVR set for the Ricky Williams one which is replaying in a couple of days.

The ricky williams one shows a very very strange dude!

I've watched most of them... Always very interesting.

 

The Reggie Miller one was probably my favorite.

Two episodes last night. Paul Westhead, which I missed; and "The 16th Man", which I did see. Very interesting look the 1995 Rugby World Cup tournament held in South Africa in 1995 and Nelson Mandela's efforts to help unify the country by supporting the primarily white South African team.

I haven't got to watch the ones from last night yet, unfortunately. It usually takes me a few days to get time to sit down and watch.

Last night's were both good. I agree with Bug that it was heartbreaking to watch Hank Gathers fall like that. I'd forgotten that he had collapsed earlier in the season.

 

The rugby/South Africa episode was really good. I've not seen the movie, but I've long been fascinated by apartheid and how it worked. Seeing those people overcome history was impressive.

 

My wife has been watching these with me and she loves them. Her exact quote was that she liked them because they weren't all about sports.

I'm not happy that I forgot to record the new one last night. I've seen them all except this one and the Ricky Williams one, which is on my DVR. I think the Reggie Miller one and The U are probably my two favorites.

I haven't seen them all, but the ones I have seen have been VERY well done. A great series. Hats off to ESPN, who don't always get things right by a long shot.

Powerful use of the cutaway closeups of the players/staff trying to share their feelings and "losing it" when speaking of Hank's death. Great editing and directing right there that caught me right up in the the tragedy when all had the same exact emotion shown on each individual's face. :thumb:

Got the two newest ones DVR'd and have watched most all of the rest of them. They have most all been good, I thought the fantasy baseball one was disappointing, not sure why, just didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped. Ricky Williams' story was a good one, Reggie Miller was fun to see as well, and my favorite so far may have been Bias.

I really liked the Ricky Williams one. It made me think about the things I have said about athletes without knowing the whole story. I always liked Ricky Williams before, but now I feel like I know Ricky Williams. For those who haven't seen it, I hope you enjoy it.

 

I liked the Iverson Trial and the one about The U. I am an FSU fan, but the one on The U made me like them a little which means I can just solely concentrate my hate on the Gators.

 

My favorite one without question is the Reggie Miller one. I always liked Reggie Miller but that one made me laugh out loud more than any other and I got to relive those exciting series of the Pacers and the Knicks. The best part was when he started his first varsity high school game and he scored 40 points and his dad and Cheryl came and picked him up and he was puffing out his chest about how he scored 40 points. Cheryl and his dad looked at each other and didn't say anything. He says, "what'd you do score 60 points or something?"....... No, she scored 100. :lol::ohbrother: Greatest sequence ever....

Next one is directed by Ice Cube on the Raiders and the fan base.

I love these because they bring out some intimate details of stories you remember, but not a lot is really known about. The only one that looks at something we here a lot about is the 2004 Red Sox come back over the Yankees. Great story, but we heard (and still hear) about it ad nauseam. Maybe they will approach it from a different angle.
