Wouldn't even be the second. As a matter of fact, the last time we thought it was in the bag was last year. Entering the season most thought Tebow would have won the Heisman last year. Didn't happen.

Well Tebow has 3 of the 5 so I guess 60% accuracy isn’t bad. :idunno: Either way Tebow has to be at the top of the list.

October 8, 200916 yr I think the best player on their team and has been the best player for the last two years is Spikes. I would put Spikes ahead of him when it comes to best in the country. Some others off the top of my head that I would put in front of him would be Oklahoma States WR, Taylor the safety for USC, and the runningback from Cal. When I think about naming the best player in the country, I think of who I really think are the best. Not who might be on the best team or surronded by the best players. Honestly I think you could put Washington's QB on Florida's team and they would still be just as good. He can run the ball, and IMO is a better passer than Tebow. If you remember the one thing people have been talking about this year about what they are worried about for Florida is the passing game and how it has not looked that good so far. Gators passing game not as good due to injuries to wideouts. Not saying Tebow is best but he has to be thought off when talking about best player.

I guess what it comes down is do you think Florida would have been as good without Tebow and had someone else say like the Washington QB, Colt McCoy, etc. I honestly think yes they would have still been just as good, and possibly even better. Those two guys I just mentioned also are good runners, and IMO better passers than Tebow. Urban Meyer's system makes players look really good, you can just look at Alex Smith. His system made him put up great numbers, and eventual #1 pick. Its a great system for a QB to play in, because you will be very successful. So no I don't think Tebow is the best player in the country, and not the best QB in the country either. I look at it as a whole, and do consider the talent around someone. Just because you have the better talent around you, which helps you put up better numbers. It really doesn't meant that you are a better player than someone else out there. I think if you put a couple of the other guys I mentioned in there and they would have done great too! I mean he just has "it". It just seems that everytime UF needs a big play, he gives it to them. It could be a run, could be a pass, heck it could be running over and coaching the special teams. I don't think it's one play that defines Tebow, it's the ability to almost always come through when they need him, no matter how bad he has played. He's obviously not the most talented guy of the group, and somehow he makes up for it. I think without Tebow, UF would have a shot at the title, but they wouldn't be a favorite. I don't think McCoy or anyone else gets them to the title last year. They don't make that comeback on Bama in the 4th without Tebow. They don't beat OU without Tebow. JMO, and I can't stand UF or Tebow, but I felt like I have to give him his due.
