Who has eaten there? Anything you all can tell me about the restaurant?

Been there once. Solid. Not great. I do remember a pretty strong appetiizer. Might have been artichoke dip.

It is a wonderful place to eat!

Enjoy!!

Think we'll have any problem getting a table for two on Friday night?

Mrs GT and I have been a few times and solid is a good description. Wouldn't make any of my best of lists but the food is good...

Well the GF wanted it so I said ok to whatever she wants.

Ask Original Rookie about their wine selection.

Ate there once or twice - good but not spectacular. Two and a half stars out of four.

Brio's overpriced go to Pompilio's up the street. JD

Totally different Italian restaurant than Pompilio's so it's not really fair to compare the two food or price wise.

The food is very good, sportsfan41! They have a really good Gorgonzola crusted strip steak and the Tournedos Di Manzo is excellent as well.

If you don't have a reservation you can do a walk in, but I'd get there early.

The one time i went to eat there the girlfriend at the time and I didnt get a chance to try it. Granted it was Valentines day a few years ago but they said they were full with reservations for the day. (I totally understood this, but this was at 2pm on a Saturday and there was one other couple in the whole resturant.) The hostess was very nice and said we are not really taking walk ups, but let me ask the manager. Manager came out and so no walk ups, sorry, turn around and left. I tried nicely to let him know that we would be quick and spend some money, but he wanted no part of it. After he walked away, the hostess even said they had no other reservations untill 245 that afternoon.

Dont get me wrong I understand it was going to be a busy day and all, but there was only one other couple in the whole place. Was there really going to be a mad rush from 2-3pm.

Have never even attempted to go back and never will. Just the way I am about bad service at resturants.

I now it's too late for the OP since he's going tonight, but I believe they have the Taste of the Levee tomorrow night with dishes from all the restaurants down there. It's a chance to try a couple things from there.

Pompilios has been mentioned. How would you rank them compare to Brios? Do they compare? I have never been to Brios, and well Pompilios is iconic in Newport.
