Another thing I find ironic about the the Cats Pause. Is that the author felt the need to state that the Bracken Co girls team coach Patrick Kelch had a oft-injured group of players....but no mention of all the injuries that coach Scott Humphery's GRC boys team faced too.....again uhmmmmm.

Does it really bug you that much that Mason Co is #1?:idunno:

Thanks Gold. I guess the Indians will play the under-dog role this year.

You are most welcome. Hey playing the underdog isn't all bad. Will be interesting to see at the end of the year how this all plays out. Teams and player rankings.

Just got mine in the mail today.

Here you go:

Teams:

1. Mason Co

2. GRC

3. Scott

4. Campbell Co

5. Deming

6. Pendleton Co

7. Bishop Brossart

8. Harrison Co

9. St. Partick

10. Bracken Co

Players:

1. Robbie Stenzel GRC

2. Treg Setty Mason Co

3. Kellen Smith Scott

4. Vinny Zollo GRC

5. Kyle King Deming

6. Kyle Campbell Nicholas Co

7. Neal Pawsat Mason Co

8.Stephen Mason St. Patrick

9. Jacob Rieger Bishop Brossart

10. Avery Crisp Montgomnery Co

Looks pretty good except I think it should be GRC at #1 and Mason #2.

I really like the Smith kid from Scott but I don't know if he should be ranked higher than Zollo. Maybe just flip them and then I think it looks right.

I agree with you on both points. What colleges has been looking at the Smith kid from Scott? Does he have any offers.

I really don't know who has been looking at Smith and haven't heard of any offers for him, but maybe someone else out here has more first hand knowledge on it.

Not sure but Kellen Smith was a force last year as a sophomore. I believe he led all of NKY last year in assists and was one of the tops in scoring as well. Has a pretty good stroke from outside like his brother Ryne did when he played. His highlight of this career came last year when he almost lead Scott to upset #1 ranked Holmes. He was amazing in that game as we has all year. The only thing that goes against him is that he is a little undersized but seems to have grown a little over the summer so hopefully that helps.

Kellen was arguably the best PG last year in NKY, and that was his sophomore year. He has plenty of time ahead of him to make a name for himself. I think the #3 ranking in the 10th region is showing that people around the state are taking notice of him. Now whether or not he is better than Zollo is a very good question but its hard to compare players that play two entirely different positions and say who is better! I expect Kellen to have a big year.

Everyone has opinions. My opinion is that these are two very good teams that the determining factor could come down to "home court advantage" and that is tough. I am a big supporter of ALL regionals being held on neutral courts so that the BEST team wins! If home court does not matter why did the NCAA rule a few years ago that teams cannot play regional games on their home court thus UK has to go somewhere else in 2013.

Montgomery is not in the top 10???

Flying under the radar!

Last two years no home court advantage. :thumb:

And best team won.

Thanks for the great indepth info.:thumb: Wish Smith all the best this season and coming years. Did he play AAU ball this summer?

Montgomery is not in the top 10???

Same way that Rash didn't get mentioned as a top ten player last year.

Flying under the radar!

Looks like we are too according to Fraysure....

Yes he did. I can't recall the name right off my head but Team Ice? Not sure exactly.
