With this lineup I could see the matchups of Setty on Zollo, Pawsat on Purvis, B Lang on Rogers, Gilbert on Stenzel and J Lang on Kendred. Rogers is a brute and I see a mis-match there. Really like the way Pawsat plays , but don't think he will be able to handle Purvis. The Mason faithful have not seen him play lately...he will make a huge difference. Feel Gilbert will have trouble containg Stenzel. If Mason's 3 forwards get in foul trouble, just don't see the strength of Mason's bench matching up. For GRC if we get our guards in foul trouble....the same can be said.

These matchups arent exactly correct. J Lang will guard Stenzil and Gilbert will guard Kendred. Pawsat will more than handle Pervis in the post. I also cannot wait till the season. :thumb:

Trust me, Justin Lang will draw Stenzel. Despite his size, he is a great defender and that will be shown once he gets more minutes. That being said, it will be tough for anyone to "contain" Stenzel. The kid is a stud.

 

I would say that by the time the 10th Region tournament comes around, Tyler Black or Manship will be starting over Bradley Lang.

I'd say he is 5'11" but he is stout.

With all this talk about how Mason County won't be able guard GRC, what about GRC guarding Mason County? They will get the ball too you know and will be able to put up some points.

Come on he was a nice player for a sophmore but, better than Boone County's Gabbard?, Riley from Holmes??, :confused: The little guy from Holy Cross was pretty tough also... The Highlands guards wore him out in head-to-head play. Maybe in the 10th region BUT not all of Northern KY IMO

 

Since Scott plays primarily a 9th Region schedule since the teams are closer to home, Scott goes toe-to-toe with every PG there. The stats speak for themselves. He led all of NKY in assists (by a healthy margin too), was one of the tops in scoring, led his team constantly to victory and almost pulled off an upset of #1 Holmes. He was right up there with all of those players and his play proved it.

You probably are not even knowing who Purvis is. Not many remember him. He is the kid that did not play last year, due to a tore ACL, and yes he will play the wing. Will make a huge difference. Believe you are talking about Rogers, the kid that had to wear the mask last year in regional, due to broken nose and played center. Also don't forget Daniels. Would start for most teams.

I have seen Kellen Smith play. Very overrated at 3rd best player in region. Possibly not even 3rd best player on his team. He is a good player and a good kid, but I dont even see him in the top 10. There is more to the game than offense. Good chance you would see some weaknesses if Scott played man defense instead of zone. IMO, Jalen Daniels, Corey Rogers, Jordan Gilbert and Luke King are much better players.

If coach O'Hearn wants to win he'll just let Setty and Pawsat take the ball to the wholearound Clarks bigs. Clarks bigs are not as fast as Masons bigs that is all im saying. I have seen Purvis play many times and no he can not guard Setty nor Pawsat off the dribble.:ylsuper:

I saw him play a few games his freshman season.
