Both Zollo and Setty need to bulk up.

Zollo dosn't need to bulk up, but he does have aspects of his game he needs to work on.

yeah.

As usual it should boil down to GRC and Mason. I like GRC this year better than Mason but come regional both teams if healthy will be great. Purvis will surprise people as the season goes on and he gets into game shape. He's going to take a whille to get his legs just like Zollo did last year. Setty is a very good player, but does need to get bigger for the next level. But both him and Zollo will play high D-1. But right now I give a slight edge to Zollo. It should be a great year for GRC and if the guard play can come through, it could be a very great year. Kindred is a big piece of the puzzle as he can be the point they need, but after that we will have to see what develops from the other guards. Stenzel is the best player in the region as of now with Zollo and Setty numbers 2 and 2a. Come next year Purvis could be right there with them.

Good post. I agree on Purvis will need some time to come back from his ACL tear. Also next year he will be one of the top players along with Setty , Zollo and Stenzel. Chase Kendred is what we need at guard, agree that we need to develope some depth at that position as the season goes on. Look for Sophomores Fatkin and Vancleave to get alot of PT this year.

The GRC team and fans have high expectations for this years team. Just hope they all can stay healthy and achieve those dreams. :ylsuper:

Is the guard who came over from Powell Co still at GRC? No mention of him from what I've seen on here but I didn't think he was a senior last year.

Brady Jolly at Campbell County?

Christian Brewer went back to Powell Co, he is a Senior this year. Wish Christian all the best at Powell.

Brady Jolly at Campbell County?

He is going to have a great year and lead the Camels (who may turn some heads this year).

Clark vs. Mason is a very good debate. I do not think Fraysure should be bashed for ranking Mason Co. ahead of Clark because it is very close. Anybody could make a point for Clark being better or vice versa. The 10th region is between Mason and Clark only, as long as both stay away from injuries. The best player in the region is Stenzel and with Setty's big summer I'm looking for a lot of special things out of him this year. He will finally be "the man" and we will see what he does with it. When it comes down to matchups I think both teams have advantages. The pg advantage is definitely with Mason, Gilbert will cause problems with his penetration and a very good shot to go with it. The sg advantage does go to Clark but Mason's Justin Lang is very good defensively and people will be surprised. Lang will make Stenzel work for everything that he gets. According to gold sunrise Pervis now plays wing so I guess you would pencil him in the 3 spot. Mason's 3 would be Bradley Lang and Pervis would have a size advantage but Pervis is not even close to as mobile as Bradley Lang. I haven't seen Pervis play since freshman year but the kid didn't turn into Kevin Durant over night. Defensively he can not guard the 3 position. If Pervis is on Pawsat then once again he is not athletic enough to stay with Pawsat. I'm pretty sure Pawsat will be on Rogers though because he is a battler. Pawsat battled him in the finals and will hold his own because Rogers can not stay with Pawsat defensively. I know you Clark fans will say Rogers wasn't fully healthy in the finals but this is the only proof we have to go off of. Then it comes down to Zollo and Setty and I would give the edge to Setty. Well for Mason Co. to beat Clark, Setty has to have the advantage here. He has to step up and be "the man" or Clark will make it to Rupp this year. I think the benches are pretty even. I don't know much about Clark past Daniels. He is very athletic but not really much else and seemed to get really discouraged a lot. So I expect Mason to be able to cancel him out with Manship and I am really expecting big things out of Tyler Black. Tyler Black will be another key because he is capable of big things and could be starting before the season is over. Clark does have the advantage when it comes to the coaching but then the 10th region is being played at Mason (haha) so that even outs also. I expect a real battle between the two teams this year, goodluck to all!

How do you figure GRC has an advantage in coaching? Coach O'Hearn has been Mason's coach for five years. His record is 133 and 32 and in head to head meetings with GRC in Region, MC has won 3 and lost 1 and if memory serves me right MC lone lose was at the Fieldhouse. Seems to me MC has the advantage.

Interested to see Campbell Co this season. Saw them over the summer and was impressed.

I know they lost a lot thru graduation as I thought Nerl was one of the better players in the region.

Who is going to step into those starting spots from last year and more importantly how do they match up against Brossart and Scott in district play?

MC on basis of record has coaching advantage but GRC may have court advantage as Fieldhouse is the only venue where the Cardinals have won in the Regional tourney.

Meant to add this in previous post but somehow didnt.

 That is funny. GRC with a court advantage at the fieldhouse.... The region had been played at Mason Co for around 30 years till the last 2 years. If you were going to win the region over the last 32 years... it would be the fieldhouse.... ( excluding the last two years)

Just got mine in the mail today.

Montgomery County not in the top 10? It might be kind of a down year, but they would beat atleast 3 of the teams in the pre-season top 10 with little or no problems IMO.
