September 23, 200916 yr Virginia Tech has a very aggressive and hard hitting defense as usual. Their offense is pathetic at best though. Tyrod Taylor is not a passer, and can be frustrated if you keep him from running. Their two runningsbacks are very talented IMO. IF VT can run the ball, they can stay in this game. For Miami, they need to protect Jacory Harris. If they do that the offense will take care of itself. The defense needs to be opportunistic and make some plays. If the Canes can take a lead the game should be over. As I have said before I have no respect for VT as far as their ability. I don't think the U is back, but I do think they are alot better than Tech. I'm going to say........ Canes 35 Tech- 14 Virginia Tech's lack of offense will result in their defense being on the field too much. Whipple and Harris will make a good defense look average as the Hokies will just be too tired.

September 23, 200916 yr I attended this game last year down in Miami. Funny how one year changes things in collegiate sports. I am not a big Tyrod Taylor fan as a QB. I think the Canes can create enough havoc on Taylor to limit the Hokies on offense. Miami 20 V. Tech 10

September 23, 200916 yr I think V Tech is overmatched in this game. Miami's offense is clicking very well. The Hokie D has given up alot of yards. 450+ to Alabama, 230+ to Marshall, and 330+ to Nebraska. Marshall is Marshall, Alabama isn't the same offense as they were last year. Nebraska is not an offensive giant either. Jacory Harris will exploit this defense. 'Canes will be flying to the ball because they have a "swag" about them right now. They have the athletes to keep Tyrod Taylor in check. Canes- 34 Hokies- 17

I think a few relatively new faces will make some big plays in game 3 of "Whipple Ball". http://espn.go.com/blog/acc/post?id=3981 I remember visiting a Canes blog over the winter, and at that point many weren't very satisfied with the choice of Whipple. At this point, it looks like it was a solid choice, plus when you have a Qb with the skill set of JH12, it's hard to look bad. I hope to get tickets to the OSU/UM game next season, and if they keep improving this season I may have to get a 2nd mortgage to afford those tickets.
