I remember visiting a Canes blog over the winter, and at that point many weren't very satisfied with the choice of Whipple. At this point, it looks like it was a solid choice, plus when you have a Qb with the skill set of JH12, it's hard to look bad. I hope to get tickets to the OSU/UM game next season, and if they keep improving this season I may have to get a 2nd mortgage to afford those tickets.

 

Really? The Canes guys I know from down there were really excited about him. Actually, I think he was there first choice.

 

I really didn't know much about him, but once I started studying up on his offense at UMass, as well as what he did with the Eagles and Steelers I was really excited as well. I think he is once of the most create guys I've seen. This is a liberal pro-style offense and as long as he's there I think recruits are going to go nuts over it. Watch out though, Bill Cower says that would be the first hire he'd make if he went back into coaching.

 

As for the tickets, I'm going to pay what ever it cost to go. If you remind me I'll try to find some off of the season ticket holders that aren't going to the game. Did that for the game at U of L a few years ago and had very good seats at about face value.

Miami could very well win this one and it certainly wouldn't suprise me if they do. I am going to go with VA. Tech and Beamer ball at home. I look for VT's/B.Foster's defense to play well as usual and for Beamer's special teams to make a big play....or two. I am not a big fan of either team but I am defianately a fan of Frank Beamer.

If Miami is as good as their ranking then they will win this game. VT is pretty bad offensively, if anything Miami should just outscore them. If it wasnt for bad red zone play calling Tech would have lost by close to 2 tds last week.

No team they have played so far is an offensive juggernaut, which the U appears to be so far this season. If they don't fix that this week the game will be over quickly.

I really hope I get to see this game saturday. Espn has it listed to be shown on ABC at 3:30. But they also have Ohio State/Illinois listed for the same network and time. I usually like watching OSU but not when this game is on!

Nebraska is ranked 18th in total yards at 442 per game.

 

Marshall is at 77th with an average of 328 per game.

I have to disagree. Nebraska and Marshall? Those are not good offensive football teams. Bama is good, but their offense will settle down once they get going in SEC play. You can't be serious with Nebraska and Marshall offensively. I really like Nebraska, I actually said on here a few weeks ago that if they beat VT they would be undefeated for a while and maybe break the top 10, but they are not a really good offensive team. None of the teams that VT has faced have anywhere near the offense that Miami does. Bama has Julio and a great RB core, but I'd take the Miami WR core over the Bama core. RB is close as a whole, but Ingram is the best of the bunch. Line is nearly even, I think that Miami's seems to have jelled a little earlier. QB is not even close. Offensive coordinators are not even close either.

I disagree with Cats Julio Jones alone coaches nation wide would take him over anyone for the Canes. We use 4 running backs Canes don't have that depth. Our QB has set Bama records, but I do like the Cane, but I'd pick ours if I had a pick. My $00.03 :idunno:

Really? Jones is, IMO, the best pure WR in the Country. I think if you put him in a high-flying offense he would be just as highly talked about as Dez Bryant. But other than that Canes core is much deeper.

Like I said, Ingram is the best running back between the teams, but the Canes are deep at RB, just as deep as Bama. Canes just don't run as much because they score on so many big plays. James is good, Cooper has looked great so far, Chambers is very underrated and hurt right now, Frosh Mike James has looked really good out of the backfield, and many think that once Lamar Miller catches on he will be the best back on the roster.

As for QB, McElroy doesn't = 1/2 of Jacory Harris. McElroy has a good arm, but he is more of a manager of the game. Harris is a legit star in the making.

 

Please tell me this is just being a homer. Bama will be back to the 17-27 point range soon. And that works for them. That makes them a better team, that's the way Saban wants it. Their not the type of team that wants to get in a shoot-out.

Nebraska is very good offensively. They should have score around 30 or more on VT but they killed themselves with penalties and what I believe was suspect play calling in the red zone. Dont let the 15 point total fool ya they moved the ball all over the place just failed to get in the end zone for whatever reason.

 

As for this game the Canes should win handily.
