GEEEEZZZ....Enough of this Highlands stuff! :ohbrother: PLEASE!?

The Cats just beat a team which they haven’t conquered in nearly two decades….I don’t care if Ashland was going to play for a state championship next week….I want to savor this victory for a while.

Highlands football is about as close to my thoughts as how much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood….

OK. I'll lay off the Highlands talk. It does make one wonder, though, since the last time Ashland beat Ironton was 1990 and the Tomcats managed to win the state title that year. And since Ashland will clearly have to go through Highlands to do the same this year...OK, enjoy your victory celebration...I'll leave it at that. Highlands has bigger things to worry about, too, as they play Cincy St. X this coming week!

Congratulations to Ashland on beating what I thought was a very good Ironton team.

Congrats guys! You have made all of the schools around here very proud.

This a huge win for the Tomcats tonight and it sounds like they are playing good ball right now. My only concern is that Ashland fans are talking about Highlands and the playoffs before district play has even began. Ashland is a talented team that has the ability to win this district but let's not forget about Woodford and Johnson Central! Woodford is talented and Johnson Central has had Ashlands number the past few years. The Tomcats are good but they or no one else is good enough to look over anyone in this district.

For the record, I am a Russell fan who mentioned Highlands. I think Painter (an Ashland fan) told me to shut up.

I think Ashland just beat the best team on their regular season schedule rather handily tonight, so my mind automatically wonders if they can beat the team that stands in their way of a state title. Sorry I mentioned them. Could a moderator just delete my posts from this thread?

No need for that Ryan. I know all Ashland fans appreciate your excitment and support of the Tomcat football program. You are a great poster on here, and I sincerly enjoy reading your post. You are a true high school football fan, who truly appreciates the kids, no matter what color they wear. We need more fans just like you. :thumb:

Great win for the Tomcats! I think this could be a very magical season when it's all said and done. Keep it rollin' boys. Congrats.

That's a nice looking win for Ashland.

When you match up a good Ky team with a comparable Ohio team it almost always means a loss. Good for Ashland for beating a team that had been doing some damamge on the other side of the river.

Didn’t really mean to come across as trying to stifle the tone of this thread…your opinion and comments ryan are typically on point and certainly you have the right to express them…

As an Ashland fan, this win is one I would like to savor for a few days within its own merit. Being a fan of high school football, I agree its compelling to speculate about all the possibilities which MIGHT lie ahead for this promising group of Tomcats. We, as fans, can afford that to do that.

However, should this team even start of thinking beyond doing their best in next Monday’s practice and preparing for Waverly (OH), it would not only be presumptuous, but quite possibly disastrous.

Ashland has not won a regional championship since 1990, and it’s been 3 years since taking the district crown. Beating Ironton was fantastic, but it doesn’t mean squat in terms of adding any more championships to this storied program.

There is more work to be done.

Ditto!

Congratulations Tomcats. Listened to it on the radio. Sounded like there were some huge hits, but with that guy behind the mic they all seem like that. Great job. You whooped a solid opponent that will do nothing but prepare you for possibly a deep run in the playoffs. Congratulations again!!:thumb:

Doc, you couldn't be talking about the great Dicky Martin. Why, he is the most non bias radio man around and would never show favorites. Also, Ashand has never been guilty of any penalty in the history of the school or has never gotten a good call by any official :D

D, Martin....gotta love it , imo is the best radio/play by play man around along with the crew at GoRadio (they will ride em' like a wal mart pony, lol)

Well stated and a big :thumb: on that from a Raceland fan.

Way to go, I didn't pick Ashland to win but glad they did.

Very proud of you good luck the rest of the way.
