Had Somerset winning this one, but that score blows me away!! Coach Lucas has team flat out rolling! I don't see a team left on this schedule with a chance in the regular season. Somerset will roll to 10-0. Congratulations to those young men.

 

Thanks for the props but there is still alot of football to be played. I agree that Somerset should be favored the rest of the regular season without any major letdowns.

There will be no letdowns, when you win the battles in the trenches the rest comes easy with the athletes we have. We imposed our will up front and will continue to do so!

Bad hamstring. Apparently he is shut down until he is 100% healthy. I saw him at the Corbin game and he really needs to let it heal properly. I thought he was a liability on defense because he couldn't move that well.

 

He is definitely needed, but he is needed healthy. There isn't a lot he can do with one leg.

 

If he comes back healthy, Danville can be a good team. If he doesn't play QB, they are in trouble.

Wow! Did not expect a pounding like this. It is hard to believe that Danville can possibly have a down season. On a better note I guess it looks better for our region through the playoffs!!

But this team is a mystery. That team had a junior named Donnie Redd and a Sophomore named David Walker that got them on track. I don't know if there's a Donnie Redd on this team.

I agree. I think Danville is just having a stretch were they don't have the athletes they normaly have.

I disagree. They have a stable of above average athletes. One problem is I don't think their lines on both sides of the ball is that experienced. I don't see a lot of holes for these kids to run through. A lot of these guys are also out on the varsity field for the very first time with huge expectations against teams that are just better than Danville. Having a Donnie Redd, David Walker, etc is great and all, but a lot of those guys only come around once or twice every ten years and Kelvin Turner has left the building. I just think they are young and inexperienced and a casualty of a brutal schedule. They also could use some resilience and heart.

 

It's also kind of insulting to the teams that have beaten Danville this year. Corbin is better than Danville, Somerset is better than Danville, and Mason County is better than Danville.

 

Corbin is the number 2 team in 2A, Mason is number 2 in 3A and Somerset is ranked number 6 in 3A. It's not like they are losing games to teams that they aren't better than. It could be more like gone are the days when Danville could compete and beat most comers regardless of class.
