Boone can't stop the run.... I think Highlands run all over them!

I'm suprised by the margin but I expected they would dominate up front with two behemoth T's.

Anderson is a solid team, but they are not so good they should be beating one of NKY's better teams this badly. Highlands is likely to name the score against Boone next week as well.

 

I'm guessing that this is why they scheduled the Rebs as the homecoming opponent.

I was talking about Giesting I believe he is the one who has been there for a while. Rod Huber is the coach at MSJ.

 

Vince Suriano is the former Head Football Coach at Anderson and now is the Offensive Coordinator at Mt. St. Joe. Jeff Geisting took over for him in 2007 and won OHSAA Division II state title his first year (Geisting was the Defensive Coordinator under Suriano) . In 2008, he once again led Anderson to another state title game but lost. This year Anderson is compeating in Division I in Ohio due to the realignment

Jeff Giesting has been at Anderson since either the late 80's or early 90's. From what i have heard from guys at the game it seemed like boone was consistantly out of position and were not able to adjust to Anderson's running game.

 

Norwell is the best player to come out of Anderson which is saying a lot with the recent run of BCS quality linemen this decade.

Norwell is also the brother of the forward (Adam I think) who attended NKU and was a fine forward for Ken Shields.

Anderson is a very good football team. Boone will be fine.

 

We all agree that Anderson is an extremely good football team, well coached and plays the game with intensity. Boone will not be fine if they continue to tackle and play flat-footed defense they way the did last night. I honestly can't remember the last time I have seen a High School team tackle or should I say not tackle the way they did. They are much better than they played last night, it's just that someone on that young defense needs to step up and light the fire. Offensively when they do decide to pass, the QB needs to take what the defense is giving him. No need to force the big down field pass, when you can check down to the big tight end Brown and Oppenheimer\Quainoo out of the backfield to let them loosen up the linebackers and punish the smaller corners. Hopefully they'll pull this together and get this going in the right direction.

I would like to see the Birds give the ball to Collinsworth more than 10 times a game. He has to be averaging about 13-14yds a carry..

Excellant Thread. Not That Boone will beat Highlands, probably not, but Highlands would not come close to Anderson with the team that they have this year. They are starting alot of seniors.Anderson definitly has a good shot at a state championship. Boone is replacing 9 starters from defense and 6 or 7 from offense from last years team. They are playing quite a few underclassmen, with a very tough starting schedule. This is gut check time for the players and coaches. I am confident that as the season goes on people will see an improvement with this team. Boone traditonally starts out slow, but as the season goes on they are always there at the end. The goal is to get to the playoffs and now the records are 0-0.Sk proved that. I agree with Love The Game, Some one needs to light a fire and it should start with this class of SENIORS. Its still early and alot of good games to play and see.

It doesn't get any easier for Boone next week. If they stay within 24 points of Highlands they will be doing very good.

I don't think Highlands will name the score at all, but I think they'll win. Boone just isn't where people think they are. I think Ryle is the better 6A team.

 

I don't know about that one. One of Boone's coache's sons told me that they weren't that good. I guess we will have to see. Thanks again!:thumb:

If Boone is not tackling well it will be a long night watching Collinsworth run wild. Highlands is good. One of Boone's coaches does not know what he is talking about.

Brother's son plays for Anderson. Said Anderson played entirely backups the second half. He was very surprised with Boone's passing game - or lack thereof. They may be feeling the effects of Lokesak and Spaulding graduating.
