Austin would probably get more touches if he would quit scoring on those long runs. Tell him to run out of bounds i/o cutting back and then they'll have to give it to him again!

Brother's son plays for Anderson. Said Anderson played entirely backups the second half. He was very surprised with Boone's passing game - or lack thereof. They may be feeling the effects of Lokesak and Spaulding graduating.

Excellant Thread. Not That Boone will beat Highlands, probably not, but Highlands would not come close to Anderson with the team that they have this year. They are starting alot of seniors.Anderson definitly has a good shot at a state championship. Boone is replacing 9 starters from defense and 6 or 7 from offense from last years team. They are playing quite a few underclassmen, with a very tough starting schedule. This is gut check time for the players and coaches. I am confident that as the season goes on people will see an improvement with this team. Boone traditonally starts out slow, but as the season goes on they are always there at the end. The goal is to get to the playoffs and now the records are 0-0.Sk proved that. I agree with Love The Game, Some one needs to light a fire and it should start with this class of SENIORS. Its still early and alot of good games to play and see.

 

Good post, with the exception of the bolded. Anderson is playing D-I this year, so they don't have a "good" shot, or really a realistic shot at a state championship. I think most people in Cincinnati would be shocked if they got out of Region 4.

 

That said, they are very good. Unfortunately, they are very good in a region that includes St. X, Elder, Colerain, Moeller, Centerville, et al. Based on what I've seen so far, I'd say they are better than Moeller and Centerville, but it's close. I think it would be interesting to watch them play Colerain. They'd certainly be underdogs against X and Elder.

 

BTW, how's that for a tough region? My two cents.

I agree with your assesment. I dont think shock is the right word. Suprised yes, but shocked would be if a woodward was to make it out of region 4.

Thanks for the region information, I wasn't aware of the teams that are in that region,I agree. Still, Anderson is a very good football team, well prepared, I am going to follow them the remainder of the year and see how it all plays out. Good luck to them.

Correction for Cooperstown. Anderson came out with the starters for the first full series of the first half on both defense and offense. I know for sure of that, because it's impossible to miss Norwell, Slater, and the QB when they are on the field.

I heard on WLW radio that Andrew Norwell was ranked as one of the 10 best football players in the country. Not 10 best offensive tackles but ten best, period. (Can't who they said did the ranking.)

 

My boss is an Anderson grad and his daughter goes there now. They won the state last year and, obviously, are very good again this year. My boss was at the game and said the size difference was significant.
