You thinking Z-Bow?

No. He's not fast enough for that type of offense. He appears to be a classic dropback passer with a strong arm.

The one thing he is lacking right now is the break away speed, and his cuts aren't very strong. QUOTE]

He doesn't cut, he runs you over. Once he realizes he can score the field, watch out. Ask Cov and Dixie (scrimmage). He will only get better and he is definitely fast. Not fast as Collinsworth yet...he is 15

To the Travis Elliot being D-1 argument, often you have to just as good an athlete as fast as you are. He relies on power and just running around people which will not cut it on the D-1 level. You have to have shake and bake.

Cody and Travis actually have very similiar speed, they just look different because of their size. Travis is just as fast. And on top of it he has power. The one thing he is lacking right now is the break away speed, and his cuts aren't very strong. Right now he has D1 talent, his size may be the only thing that holds him back. He is almost TOO bulky. We'll see. In two years it may be unreal the things he can do.

I've seen both Pike and Elliott play, and both have the ability to possibly go D1 one day. The difference is, Elliotts' talent is on another level right now. I'm not impressed with Pike, but I see the size potential and all of that.

And as Clyde said, if you include juniors, Hempel is by far in the top. But Elliott is the top underclassman and it isn't close..

I've only seen one game (Highlands) and from that game I agree. He's a great physical back but I think he lacks in the acceleration departmet. With that being said, he will have an awesome HS career but I don't see him going D1 at RB, but I could see him as a D1 FB with his strength.

He'll have a great career at RB in high school, but you're right, I definitely see him at the FB position if he goes to the D1 level, with some added weight on him.

He doesn't lack in the acceleration department necessarily, he just lacks stamina at this point. I promise you, his speed is as fast as any other kid mentioned if not faster. The problem is, with the way he runs, by powering through and lowering his head and dragging down three guys in the process, he wears down. By the second half he doesn't have the ability to accelerate like he would in the first half, but the ability IS there.

Why all the talk and discussion about these young men playing football at the D1 level in college ? Who's to say that they will not play at a different level once they reach that point in their life? Who's to say that they will want to play football at all after high school? It is my humble opinion that all this talk and rhetoric about a high school athlete playing at the D1 level does a huge injustice to that athlete. Why not let the primary focus of discussion be about what they are doing now in their high school careers and let the chips fall where they may?

For the most part, the kids I talk about I know have an ambition to play in college. And I think everyone is speaking based on what they are doing now.

I totally agree!!!!

Travis Pavy S, WB, Tanner Pulice RB, Dylan Plvan FB, RLB

I don't think of speed when I think of Tebow. I think of power. And I see the same thing out of Pike. He is a fullback with a good arm and head for the game.

You certainly have a valid point and one I agree with overall. Its a fine line between overhyping a kid and setting him and others up for disappointment vs having a realistic opinion that will likely come to fruition.

Seth Bruns, RB/receiver/return man, for Dixie has excellent speed and from what I saw at the Ryle game has a bright future.:taz::taz::taz:
