I consider Jrs to be underclassmen so I'll give a vote to Austin Baldwin and Kenneth Lockhard from SK, both Jrs.

Wendeln from Boone County, plays well on both sides of the ball and special teams. Not very big in size but, makes up for it in speed and ability to play. Has a good head on his shoulders on the field and in the classroom.

Grant County has several that could be big time players in years to come. They have 4 great freshman that are playing varsity right now. Nathan Davis, Tyler Robinson, Shelby Caudill( 2 way starter as a freshman) and Dustin Haar. They have several sophomores that are and will be good. TE Aaron Ware, Lineman, Ethan Magee, and LB Lucas Button. If you are including Juniors you have to look at "Big country" Jarrett Lawson 6'8" 320 lbs. is a beast at Nose and LB Justin Loomis who had 15 sacks as a sophomore are real impressive. The braves are young this year but the future looks bright for the braves

Haven't seen Oppenheimers name, how is he doing this year? strong RB, Is he getting much carries.

Oppenheimer is doing a very good job running the ball, pounding out the tough yards and getting positive yardage on every carry. He even caught a pass for a touchdown against Scott County. You can check out his stats at MaxPreps.com.

I believe he has been starting the JV games. Against Beechwood, he was the difference in the game that Dixie won 35-32. Without Pike, IMO Beechwood wins easily. Pike threw a TD pass in the last minute to win the game. There were three huge plays he made in that game that won the game - 4th down and 17 and Pike completed a pass down the middle that went for a 30 yard TD; just before half, 10 seconds to go and Pike ran the ball in from 10 yards out breaking about 3-4 tackles between the 5 yard line and the goal; then the final TD thrown after Pike scrambled, eluded tackles, then with 2 guys hanging on him threw the winning pass from the near sideline to the far corner of the end zone. He needs some work on throwing and accuracy. But he has the arm and his size and strength make him a unique threat. Beechwood and Dixie JV play two more games against each other. They should be fun ones.

Thanks. I figured he was starting, but I wasn't sure. QB is his future at this point as he's struggling on the defensive side in the varsity games IMO. To me, it looks like he hasn't quite grown into his body yet, which is scary considering what he's already doing at the qb position.

Elliot from Ryle, Kelly from NCC and Pike from Dixie are on a different level that Hightchew (sp?)

The best underclassmen in NKY is Travis Elliot by far and its not even that close.
