Elliott from Ryle is on a different level than any other sophomore in NKY this year IMHO.

The best underclassmen in NKY is Travis Elliot by far and its not even that close.

Dude, I've seen the kid play. He's nails. Could he be D1? Maybe so by the time 2 more seasons finish.

 

Let me clarify my Pike statement. He has the sheer size and arm strength that schools like. He needs polish and accuracy. If that comes, he'll have a chance.

I watched him against Highlands. Nice first drive against the Birds and then was not a factor in the game. I think he had 69 of his 110 yards on the first drive. I was on the field and I didn't think he was taller than 5'10. Did his brother go Division 1?

Yes he did. He is currently a sophomore and is on a Baseball scholarship at Ball State University. One of the top programs in the MAC in baseball. One of the fastest players I have ever seen. I believe he ran a 6.5 in a 60 yard dash his senior year.

I will agree with you that Elliot wasn't much of a factor other than the 1st drive. However, they were down quite a bit and at that time really couldn't afford to keep running the ball. They had to air it out in order to have any chance of coming back. Ryle is more of a ball control team IMO like Alabama in college last year. Get the lead early and then let Elliot do what he is best at.

Cody and Travis actually have very similiar speed, they just look different because of their size. Travis is just as fast. And on top of it he has power. The one thing he is lacking right now is the break away speed, and his cuts aren't very strong. Right now he has D1 talent, his size may be the only thing that holds him back. He is almost TOO bulky. We'll see. In two years it may be unreal the things he can do.

 

I've seen both Pike and Elliott play, and both have the ability to possibly go D1 one day. The difference is, Elliotts' talent is on another level right now. I'm not impressed with Pike, but I see the size potential and all of that.

 

And as Clyde said, if you include juniors, Hempel is by far in the top. But Elliott is the top underclassman and it isn't close..

The Freshman QB at Conner is very good and will only get better as he matures. The running back #22 from Conner also looks like he can play with anyone. He seems to get his number called quite a bit. Someone said he had a couple of older brothers that was pretty good?
