Well, when I'm watching a movie series I try to judge each movie individually and not based on its predecessor(s). If you're always going in ready to make a judgment based on a comparison to something else, you're more often than not going to end up disappointed.

 

I'm the same way with music... Every album is different even though the band may be the same. I try not to get in to ranking one artist's work against their other work.

Actually I would probably prefer Godfather II over the original when it comes to sitting down and watching... But that doesn't mean I don't love the original.

 

I would also probably watch both over Godfather III, but that doesn't mean I don't love it as well... And that's really my only point -- Just because we have another preference doesn't mean the other can't be good as well.

FINALLY got "Where The World Ends" by Ken Follett, the sequel to "Pillars of the Earth". It's just as fantastic! I did break down and buy it. But, that gives me both books to re-read later, and that makes me smile. I don't usually re-read books because I find it anticlimatic to know what's going to happen. But there are some authors who produce worthy, complex works that stand up to re-reading. Plus, I was at Carmichaels, my FAVORITE book store and I couldn't keep going back and sneaking a chapter in here and there because they'd notice.
