I always seem to be reading 2 or 3 things at once.

Bought "New Spring", prequel to Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series at the Morehead Goodwill on Saturday, finished it it yesterday. As it is a hardback in great shape, I'll probably sell it on eBay.

Currently reading Harlan Coben's "Back Spin"; started last night and will probably finish tonight.

Also just about 100 pages into Volume 1 of Harry Truman's memoirs. That's to pick up and read a bit at a time.

Also picked up a copy of "The Beans of Egypt Maine" and will probably re-read it soon. An absolutely compelling first book (1985) from Carolyn Chute, who is a compelling person in her own right.

Reading "Influencer: The Power to Change Anything". We'll see how that sticks.

Also reading "Whirlwind" by James Clavell. Not sure how I missed this one in my quest to read all things "Noble House".

Let us know how things go with the corporate wonks at Mickey D's.

Forgot about this one; I'm about 2/3 of the way through "The Last Amateurs", John Feinstein's book about the Patriot League. I'm not sure if I'm a highly efficient multi-tasker or if I have full-blown ADHD.

Anyway, the book was a 50 cent Goodwill purchase. If you would like to read it, be the first to PM and I'll send it in a couple of days.

Plum Spooky by Janet Evanovich

Janet Evanovich's Plum series is my guilty pleausre! I can pick up one of those and be in my own little world and emerge finished with the book and in a great mood in one day. :thumb:

I got "Whirlwind" at a thrift store for 50 cents too. Pound-for-pound, well worth 50 cents. :D

Picked a bunch of these up at a thrift store for 50 cents apiece, read them all and sold them on eBay at a small profit. They're fun.:thumb:

PS - Ranger or Morelli?

Just re-read one of my all-time favorite short stories, "To Build A Fire," by Jack London. Here it is for your enjoyment:

If you are not cold when you finish, then you are not human.

Finished "Back Spin".

A hundred pages or so into a re-read of one of my favorite espionage/thrillers of all time, "Shibumi" by Trevanian.

PS - the book pictured in the article looks almost exactly like my copy.

Just finished Anita Shreve's Body Surfing. Was my book club's pick this month. It was ok.

Want to get my hands on "U is for Undertow"; "I, Alex Cross"; and the debut novel of local author Beth Hoffman,"Finding CeeCee Honeycutt".

Just finished "The Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett

Just started "Eastern Standard Tribe" by Cory Doctorow

How did you like "The Pillars of the Earth"? I absolutely LOVED it! I hated to see it end!

I'll second that emotion! I will someday soon tackle the next volume. The name excapes me right now.

Me too. I picked up "The Pillars of the Earth" at a thrift store. I fear I'll have to pay full price to satisfy my quest!
