January 29, 201016 yr I am waiting for my copy of "Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs" by Scott Cunningham, to come any day now. I have also been reading on a history of the fire service, published by the Fallen Firefighters of America. It has some great stories and photos in it.
January 29, 201016 yr I like the Myron Bolitar series. Didn't know about this one. Just put it on hold at the library. Thanks. Not his best, but not his best is still pretty good. Myron knows nothing about golf, so his perspective on big-time golf is amusing.
January 29, 201016 yr Good read. Players studying in the hallway prior to their tourney is what I remember from it. That, and actually being in class the morning of the conference tournament final. Said something along the lines of "imagine this at a big-time basketball school, and try not to laugh out loud". As is usually the case with Feinstein, a very good read.

January 29, 201016 yr Just finished "Wild Ride: The Rise and Fall of Calumet Farm" by Ann Auerbach That was a pretty solid book ... Overall it had some parts that reminded me of the "original" Friday Night Lights (the book). I was always pretty fascinated with the oil crisis (after ready FNL) ... but it was pretty interesting to see that Oil and the Horse Industry (via Texas Banking) were connected. I would pay money to meet J. T. Lundy ... just to say that I did. I also just recently finished "Slash" (Autobiography of the Guns and Roses Guitarist). Not too bad ... but I was a little disappointed with the "We'll get to that later ..." theme (and they never got back to it). I am looking for a good book on Woodstock (the original concert). Anyone have any ideas?

Not looking forward to it, and most definitely not as well prepared as I should be, but we'll see what happens. :lol:
