Henry Clay in the top ten negates this poll. Come on, is there anyone who really thinks Henry Clay can compete at the top levels? They're a good Lexington school, which makes them an average Louisville school. I would take the rest of the top twelve head to head against HC anyday and bet that HC would go about 2-9.

I could care less about this ranking.....we can be #30 in week 2 for all I care.....week 15, there is only one spot I want.

I can't see Male winning the Class 6A championship. I said I think they will be better.

 

Still a huge drop off from the Louisville privates to number 3, whomever that may be. Even if Trinity is rebuilding, I see them as a run away second best in Kentucky 6A.

 

I know. Didn't mean to imply you were predicting Make would win 6A. Just got me thinking how intolerable the Bird fans would be on here if it did happen. Oh the inhumanity.

But then again, you have to look at how fortunate Highlands was to escape 16-8 over a currently unranked 6A Manual team. That game took some of the wind out of the Highlans sails. Its a double-edged sword that goes week to week.

:lol: It could have been 19-15. But I don't otherwise see how it would have been different. Also there aren't ten teams on that list that I would favor over Manual.

I think Fields has Bell Co. ranked awful low. Not that it matters at all, but I believe this ranking will change dramatically in the next 3 weeks or so.

I concur. Way too low for the Defending State Champs who have done nothing to disprove that they are still a contender. :thumb:

I'm pretty sure that Mike Fields' current state rankings are meant to reflect where the teams are relative to each other at this point in time. Given that, I think his current rankings are probably no better or worse than anybody else's statewide rankings right now. Trinity may very well be the fifth best team in KY right now... I bet they are a tad higher come November/December!

We've got a big game with #22 Sheldon Clark this week. I've been around a lot of special teams and I might be wrong but I feel like this group of Sr's is going to pull the biggest turn around maybe in state history. We are missing maybe the 2 most athletic kids in Eastern KY in Chandler Sheppard and Larry West. Larry will play next week...Shep is out for the year. Biggest game I feel like we've had in Louisa in about 10 years. Sheldon Clark holds Fuggate to 5 yds and has a heck of a ball club ranked #2. I give them a ton of respect but I also feel like in my gut this group of Sr's are going to have a magical season!
