Trinity has been a rather slow starter, but a juggernaut come playoff time. This season, I see St. Xavier as the team to beat in Class 6A.

 

Regardless, I see St. X, Trinity, and Highlands as the top teams in Kentucky. Somebody has to be 4th and 5th. I have said numerous times on this forum that Henry Clay has some speedy young players who will get better as the season goes along. St. X totally shut them down in a scrimmage and with the youthfulness that the Blue Devils have, that was somewhat predictable. I have not seen Male. Bobby Redmon has a good program and has been below par of late. Male is due to have a good year.

 

If Male wins the 6A championship (which at this point I think is doubtful, but you never know) and Highlands wins 5A, given what happened when Highlands scrimmaged Male, the Highlands fans will be even more impossible to live with on here.

I think it says a lot about the whole class of 6A when you consider how bad Male was handled in the Highlands scrimmage. Or I should say, I have heard about how bad Male was handled, because I wasn't there.

But then again, you have to look at how fortunate Highlands was to escape 16-8 over a currently unranked 6A Manual team. That game took some of the wind out of the Highlans sails. Its a double-edged sword that goes week to week.

I can't see Male winning the Class 6A championship. I said I think they will be better.

 

Still a huge drop off from the Louisville privates to number 3, whomever that may be. Even if Trinity is rebuilding, I see them as a run away second best in Kentucky 6A.

Boyle County handled Henry Clay rather easily last year, I see no reason for Henry Clay to be higher than Boyle County especially since Henry Clay doesn't want to play us anymore. I doubt Henry Clay has gotten better than Boyle County since last year. JMO.

Henry Clay has beaten us twice I believe, this decade. I have no reason, nor did anything I see from last year's Henry Clay team give me any reason to believe they could beat us this year. Just like them, we get better every game also. The only teams in Lexington that I think can beat us are Lafayette and LexCath. Henry Clay simply doesn't scare me. They are likely every bit as fast as Danville will be. Speed doesn't affect Boyle County Rebels.

Fields doesn't seem to know much about high school football in Kentucky. He's too much of a homer to be taken seriously. Henry Clay should not be in the Top 5, likely not even Top 10. The only two teams that should be above Trinity are X and Highlands. Other than that, nobody is on their level, even in a down year like this. Male will have their chance to prove worthy two nights from now, but I would leave them at number 4 and put Boyle County in at number 5. Rees and McShara are a dynamic duo for the Rebels and they look like an unstoppable force in 4A this year. I know it's early, but I don't see LexCath beating Boyle nor do I see Bell giving them much trouble. But that's just my $.02.

Question: Who does Lawrence North play? I mean, who's in their district? I honestly don't know.

 

I have no problem with Mr. Fields ranking Trinity where he did. I would say that he probably knows as much about Lawrence North as I do, which is what people on here have said. :lol: Secondly, Trinity has some big question marks in the eyes of the outsider right now. Shoot, listening to the group of fans sitting behind me at the game the other night, the end is near. :eek:

You may be overlooking a pretty good Bryan Station team. IMO.

We've got a big game with #22 Sheldon Clark this week. I've been around a lot of special teams and I might be wrong but I feel like this group of Sr's is going to pull the biggest turn around maybe in state history. We are missing maybe the 2 most athletic kids in Eastern KY in Chandler Sheppard and Larry West. Larry will play next week...Shep is out for the year. Biggest game I feel like we've had in Louisa in about 10 years. Sheldon Clark holds Fuggate to 5 yds and has a heck of a ball club ranked #2. I give them a ton of respect but I also feel like in my gut this group of Sr's are going to have a magical season!

That is a possibility. I have never been ashamed to admit that I am a homer.

 

I do try to deal with who I think we can and can't defeat in a realistic manner, though.

Mike has obviously been at this too long. He has absolutely no idea what is happening after No. 2.
