I'm just saying that Dale will not beat on a team and kicked them when they are down. Dale needs this series....And it's Beechwood and Dale wouldn't do that to them. Way too much respect.... Sorry, but I do not agree with the bolded statement. I have reasons but I will have to remain silent on the issue for now. However, I do respect the great Highlands football program immensely and I think Dale Mueller is a fine coach.

Luckily, the Bird's team doesn't think that. As soon as they start thinking that way they're going to get tagged.

Beechwood could be in for a long year unless Larimore comes back. In all the seaosn previews, Rash seemed to be high on the kid. Beechwood will still probably make it to the championship game, but thats 1A football for you.

 

Highlands is Highlands once again. I don't see anyone giving them a closer game than they had the first week. That is, until they play out of the state.

 

Larimore is definitely one of the two or three best athletes on the team and maybe the best football player. Hopefully the two weeks off are what the knee needs and he is back this week. But I think it is one of those things that could flare right back up so who knows. The Tigers defense improves a LOT with him on the field. He also is their punter and I believe he may be the best punter in N. Ky. if healthy. He can crush the ball. A big, big loss not having him healthy.

Went to the HHS v. Ryle game last week and was shocked at how fast HHS was. Collinsworth is a stud, can cut on a dime and outran just about everyone from Ryle. I can't imagine Beechwood will have enough horses to hang with the Birds in this one.

With numbers being down at Beechwood, do many sophomores work in the starting rotation and did any see action in last Saturday's game? I know they were pretty stacked as Freddies.

I agree. If the Bird's don't score more points against Beechwood than Dixie did, it will look like Dixie is better than Highlands and I don't think Dale would let that happen.:ylsuper:

Sophomores getting varsity playing time against Dixie were Joe Staten starting at LB, Dane Everett starting at DE, Cameron Vocke playing about 50% of the snaps on offense in the slot and Corey Cruse seeing some action at both DE and TE. Some others got in for a play or two spelling people and as the Beechwood coaches started trying to find someone who could make plays.

Highlands wins this one! But Beechwood gets better as the year goes on and by District play will be on their game. The BW coaches are some of the best! Coach Rash is one of the hardest workers in NKY and is probably in his office as I type this!
