Isn't this situation similar to what happen when Hampton came to GCHS from Lexington? Did that in the middle of basketball season?

You are right. I personally know of other kids at other schools through the years that football, other athetics were the only thing that kept them interested in school and/or out of trouble. I have no way of knowing of if this is the case wth this young man or not and will not comment or speculate on that. Good luck to to the Carter kidx regardless if he plays football or not, after all this is high school and it is about the kids.

Are you even questioning this matter? Maybe these foster parents are doing the best they can and hopefully they are teaching him that high school last 4 years, that is it. Hopefully, they provide him normalcy beyond football.

Carter needs football in his life – the discipline, the belonging. It would be in his best interest if he is allowed to play. I hope gets to play and I hope he can settle into his new home and have a great senior year.

Maybe Greenup will offer more than Ashland for him.

 

I have heard Coach Hart has tried it all with him.

 

I wish Ashland and Carter the best.

We at GCHS are excited about the possibilities and potential that Carter himself brings to our team.

 

He is welcomed with open arms and hopefully the KHSAA will give Carter the go ahead to play, he has amazing talent and can only make those around him better athletes.

 

I will bet Lyle and Carter will be good buddies... just saying....

Hopefully GC football get there OL straighten out or it won't matter who is in the backfield. You can't be handing off the football while the running back is already getting hit in the backfield. I hope we will see some progress tonight from last week and I sure we will.:dancingpa

I think the same could be said for a certain player that is now at Raceland. I have been taking personal hits for months and people accusing me of "cheating the system". If everyone who likes to bash me knew anything at all about the situation, you'd stop with the threats and accusations. Everyone needs to remember that these kids are the ones that are hurt when adults try to use them as pawns. I, too, hope Carter is ruled eligible and gets to play if he wants to and GC accepts him into their family. I sure hope the fans/adults that seem to think something wrong is occurring when a kids moves out of necessity, don't go on the offensive toward their own for taking in someone who needs help.:sssh:

I know Mr. Carter personally and he's a good kid with a big heart. I hope he adjusts well. He will always be a "Tomcat" in my eyes, but no matter where he's playing, I'll support and cheer him on. It doesn't really matter what field he steps on, he's going to make his presence known. I sure hope that he gets to play, he has too much talent to waste. I wish him the best of luck!
