A few observations. Turning point obviously was Harris' runback for a score when it looked like the Ads were going to tie the score at 7. It was curtains after that, and putting the ball on the ground 6 or 7 times didn't help at all.

 

Nice effort by the guys in the trenches tonight. Looks like the Royals can sub on virtually every play and not lose much at all.

 

Pawsat managed the game extremely well tonight. He's not going to make very many bad decisions, and has a knack for getting the ball to the right guy. Word on the street is that Notre Dame is taking a peek at #9.

 

I've been saying that Harris is the real deal for a couple of years now. He finally gets a chance to shine as a soph, and the sky's the limit if he stays healthy.

 

Great opener for Mason County. I talked to lots of folks (even a couple from the Danville side), and absolutely nobody saw 41-7 at half in the cards. Danville made lots of miscues, but let's give the Royals just a little bit of credit for making plays.

Mason County should simply roll through their schedule this season, everyone on it seems to be down this season. Harrison County may give them a game, but don't see anyone on their schedule within 2 touchdowns of them

Congrads to Royals! Sounds like this might be the year the Royals make a run at the title.

Too many instances of Royals cramping up a bit. Gotta start the hydration process no later than Wednesday.

Even though I'm a Russell fan, I am happy to see Mason County get off to such a great start. This could be the year that Mason County represents the eastern side of the state in the 3A finals. I thought they'd have a very strong team this year and this validates it even further. Congratulations on the great win to kickoff the season and I just hope Russell can muster enough improvement to give Mason some competition for the district this year.

I think Coach B knows he has something special this season and next. If the defense can pick it up by year's end, the offense has the skill people in place, no doubt

Mason Co. played great tonight.

It seemed like Danville could not hold onto the ball for nothing.

I appreciate the kind words about our team. I couldn't be prouder of them. All of the players over the past 14 years have contributed in building our program and were part of this win tonight.

 

We name our awards after former players. I met a guy tonight that didn't believe that our captain award was named for Brandon Drake and Jason Turner but that is true. The 96 team set the tone for the attitude and effort that our teams would have and for the most part our kids have maintained and built on that attitude and effort through the 14 years.

 

In November, Danville will be in the thick of the playoff picture and one of the contenders to win the title. Coach Harp is a legend- and is deserving of that status. They are very well coached and I have heard so many good things about their players over the summer- not just as athletes but in their character.

 

Our assistant coaches also did a great job preparing our players.

Chief, I was predicting 10-0 for your guys back in the summer and that looks possible. Not trying to inflate their heads, but you definitely have a team that could do a little damage on the way to Bowling Green.

Congrats to Mason County on a huge win :thumb: ! looks like it is business as usual at Mason, the Royals have a great program, great coach and always have very talented athletes.

 

So far in this early season I think I can safely say that Ashland and Mason are both loaded.
