Strike Two: Mayfield tests positive for meth....again

Featured Replies

NASCAR says Jeremy Mayfield has again tested positive for methamphetamine and wants the federal judge who lifted the driver's drug suspension to reinstate the ban. The positive result from a July 6 random test was included in a U.S. District Court filing Wednesday.

The filing includes an affidavit from Mayfield's stepmother, who claims she personally witnessed the driver using methamphetamine at least 30 times over seven years.

Addiction is a terrible, terrible thing...

So is denial....

So very often comes part and parcel with the addiction.

This is ridiculous...he needs a lifetime ban. If they can prove that he ever raced under the influence, he should be charged with a crime or sued by NASCAR.

Claiming he is innocent.

Read somewhere that meth is the #1 drug for relapses.

I agree, one of my top 5 Favorite movies!

Back to the topic, I heard somewhere, that once someone tries Meth, they only have a 7% chance of ever staying clean off Meth for the rest of their life.

I work with a guy that has lost all of his teeth because of Meth, He's only 24...

I hate to see this for Mayfield. It honestly don't look good at all. I sure did like it when he rattled Earnhardt's cage at Pocono.

Call me naive or gullible, but I believe Mayfield for some reason.

I want to as well, but where there is smoke there is fire. This last drug test he took. I think Nascar new there would be a lot of scrutiny about it. Thats why I now have my doubts.

I am definitely torn. Mayfield would have to be the dumbest person on the face of the earth to fight this like he did, win, then fail another test. I just have a hard time believing anyone in his position could be that stupid.
