That's one chicken chaser that can sing country!

That guy was great! When he firs came on I thought it was going to be one of "those types" of acts.......a joke. I could tell the audience and the judges felt the same way and then when he started the song, jaws just dropped.

I hope the guy wins it all!

(regardless if he wins or not, I don't think he will he an unemployed farmer...chicken chaser much longer)

He was OK. A little above average. He picked better than he sang.

If the 14 yr old girl is Major League this guy is AA.

:ohbrother: Both were very good, no need to "demote" one bc there was another that was good.:idunno:

I will say this...I do believe that some of this is staged..Not the actual competition and such but some of what they say, it's premeditated I guess. I mean really was anyone shocked when he said "chicken catcher" and "I ain't really good at math". That's what was expected of someone from Kentucky. I just get tired of this perception and the stereotype that is given to all people who live in Kentucky.

I can't speak about the math part but he probably really was a chicken catcher. He is from Mayfield and the chicken industry is huge in Western Ky. You almost can't drive 10 miles without seeing chicken houses.

A brother can't express his opinion and disagree?

Imagine him with vocal trainning and in the booth, he might be a country star. I don't care for country but I might buy some of his. I teared up.

FWIW, Clyde, I agree with you. I think it this guy makes for an awesome story and some good exposure for KY, but to me, his singing performance was average at best. With some training, he probably has the potential to be really good. But for now, his guitar playing is outshining his singing ability. Of course, I am still going to root for this guy though!:D

When he first said he was from KY, I thought, "Oh lord, here comes something else for the rest of the country to show us how redneck we are." But this guy could win this competition for sure. Represents KY very well! :thumb:

He did KY proud!!!! Too many times Kentuckians don't get a fair shake on TV. They seem to always look for the worst of KY to show on TV.

I wish Kevin Skinner the best of luck. He does have talent.

:idunno:Of course you can disagree, I was just pointing out that both were very good. I pesonally didn't see anything to agree or disagree with. I wish them both luck but I am pulling for the Kentucky boy!

I think he's great. He sounded nothing like Garth and I think that's the only reason someone could say he wasn't good on that song. His sound was actually really really good to me.

Here is a professional analysis of Kevin Skinner.
