16U Update:

Platinum - not sure as site isn't updated

Gold Bracket - the KY ICE play in the Final 4 against Garner Rd at 1pm in the 5th 3rd Arena. The Ice are beginning to look like the team they should be. As for the NKY Bulldogs comments about refs, the ICE experienced same thing but pulled out a victory. Ice were up 15 with 5 min to play and the whistles went silent. Oh well, that's a variable you can't control but isn't fun to deal with.

Silver Bracket - the SS-Pittman play Char Court at 1pm for the championship.

Platinum: All play at 9:00 at the 5/3 Center, site is updated now. Ind. Elite-Team Ind. vs DS. Believe these are the only 2 teams with Ky players on the team....correct me if I am wrong. Ind. Elite has Zollo- GRC, DS has Stenzel, GRC. Shanklin and Fant, Warren Central, one or two from Christian Co, Timmy Knipp, Elliott Co,and not sure of the other players.

14U Update:

KY Elite plays at 9:00 today on court 6. The Ville plays at 10:20 on court 5. They are on opposite sides of the bracket so let's see an all KY final :ylsuper:

Anyone know how Shining Stars 17u did against the Detroit Stars in the gold Quarters?

It looks to be good for the KY teams in the U16. We have a definate Ky winner in the silver with Shining Stars or the Charlotte Court. I am pulling for the ICE in the gold and Derek Smith is still active in the platinum.

SS McFarland U17 lost a tough one to Michigan Mustangs in the Platinum bracket sweet 16 I believe.

Cincinnati Shining Stars Blue U17, including Donovan Johnson of Shelby County and Ryan Popp of Boone County, won their pool and first two bracket games and are in the quarterfinals of this event. They play at 4:45 again today. Not sure, but I think they may play Illinois Old School next.

Cincinnati Shining Stars Black U17 featuring University of Miami commitment Quentin Rollins and University of Cincinnati football commitment Jorian Hudson were defeated in the round of 16 this morning.

I don't think the Cincinnati Shining Stars White U17 team made it into the tournament bracket.

I saw this game as well. The refs were not nearly as bad in this game as it was in the NKY Bulldogs v. Club Ohio game. The whistles did go silent in the Ice game, on both sides though, generally speaking. In the Bulldogs game I watched they only went silent on the Bulldogs side. Not to mention, to start the game the refs were in the huddle with the Club Ohio coaches and cracking up with the players during the game. Im not saying they were cheating, but it didnt look right. Also, in the Lex Ice v. Club Ohio game, the refs were just letting the clock run and run and run, when it was supposed to be a stop & go clock. I actually heard a ref say "there is nothing i can do about it" to a fan who spoke up. Im sorry, but as a ref, you have a whistle and you have the power to stop the game, so... there is something he can do about it. Either way, I am very happy for the ice, Fucci had a fantastic game, as did number 32 (not sure of his name), a kid that didnt have an ice jersey on played really well (Taylor Martin, maybe), and Cabitt Hagan is such a big time hustle guy. The Ice were fun to watch and I hope they win that bracket!

Does anyone know if the KY Players or DS East won their 1:00 games?

Just heard that the KY Players won the Silver Bracket!

DS lost in the Final 4 of the 16U Platinum Bracket - close game though.

Ice lost by 3 to Garner Rd in the Final 4 of 16U Gold - lead until 5 minutes to go and had a shot to tie with 10 seconds.

SS v Char Court was championship of Silver but didn't stick around.

Taylor Barnette (2012 LCA) was 32 and he can light it up with a quick release. Martin was the no jersey player. Yes, Fucci had a great tournament overall.

The tournament was pretty good overall (talent was great). The refs were quite a disappointment. They were being evaluated most games and didn't seem to impose much authority or show much consistency. You just gotta play well and not give them the chance to dictate the game.

Until yesterday, this was my motto. I have never seen a game called in the fashion as the Bulldog/ Club OH game. A 15 - 5 foul count in the second half and 18 of 24 points for Club OH coming from the foul line. They even missed 5 free throws. Club OH stalled over 10 minutes of the game and everytime they were trapped or stopped, a foul was called. Any coach would tell their players to man up and try to create a five second call, but no lie, the officials were not even counting.

Charlotte Court won by 2 I believe, SS came back big at the end of the game, they both played well. I heard one of the Charlotte Court players say to another player, "we may see you this weekend in the championship again". This was the second championship with the Charlotte Court and Shining Star Pittman, SS won the first one and CC won this one, next one, I guess, will be the tie breaker.

Barksdale was on the CC, he played well, had a good game. SS seems to be taking a bit longer to get back in to their groove after being off for school ball.
