Well, Washington has been a late bloomer. I saw him only once last season, and he looked like he had potential, but wasn't quite strong enough yet. I saw him a few times as a soph, but he was very raw.

 

Jody Demling is reporting today that Washington really exploded in the Bolus Five-Star event (MVP), and played well at this event.

Added his father, Jim: "Others didn't see what this guy saw. (Washington) worked hard and played hard. (O'Neill) said he was underrecruited and couldn't believe other schools didn't see the potential. He said he has everything they wanted."

Would have like to seen Washington and Colt Barnhill go at it in the allstar game since they were MVP and runner-up MVP at the Rick-Bolus camp

Seems like players get a lot of hype for performances at Blue Chip Camp. Maybe too much hype. The list of players in attendance was not star-studded, even of KY guys. There were some really good players. Who knows, maybe O'Neill found a gem. I hope Washington does well at USC and represents the Commonwealth well.
