John C. Reilly stifling the Reds tonight.

How bad of an offensive team do you have when you can use the DH and you still roll out a guy hitting .198?

I think Owings spot in the rotation could be in jeopardy.

As Westsider said the Reds need hitters period.

I say take it one the chin, try to kep your head above water and build for the future. I'd be willing to part with Arroyo for some decent young talent..

Owings has the third best ERA among the Reds starters, don't see how his spot could be in jeopardy at this point. And for who/what? They don't have any thing better.

^ I would say Homer has to get a chance with the way he has been throwing.

A chance to replace Maloney, not Owings at this point. Plus, Homer has to prove he can pitch at the MLB level.

I've been pleased with Owings. Most teams would like to have a 5th starter with a ERA in 4's and a batting average around .300.

I say bring Homer up while is confidence is high, he's been on fire for the past month in AAA. He's proven he can play AAA ball, now it's time to see if he can make it on the MLB level.

I don't understand how a guy batting .325 after 126 AB's doesn't play....especially when you can use a DH

Can someone get me Dusty's phone number? A scrub from Louisville starting at 3rd base when this team needs consistent offense?

Don't you know that Dusty doesn't want people questioning him? He's tired of it. Please read the memo next time.

I read that...i'll stop questioning him when the best team is on the field.

How is Hanigan not playing?

Edinson Volquez was shut down temporarily after another MRI revealed inflammation where the forearm connects to the elbow.

“We found it was more serious than he first thought,” Dusty Baker said, “but not serious enough to operate. It’s not the ligament.”

Volquez will be examined when the Reds return home.

“With a starting pitcher, you need time to build back up, rehab starts,” trainer Mark Mann said. “You’re probably talking beyond the All-Star Break."
