Listening to Jeff Brantley on the Radio...he seems to think Arroyo is tipping his breaking ball

Can someone please tell Chris Welsh that 1 is not a crooked number?

This team has become hard to watch. What a horrible offense, of course it's been pathetic for a few years but it just seems worse now because the pitching has been so good.

That being said they are still just 1 game back (soon to be two).

"Since his last outing in Toronto, Bronson Arroya has been one of the best pitchers in baseball."

When Bronson was down 5-0 with no outs and they showed a stat combining that with his 1.0 IP 10 ER effort from last year, it brought his ERA down. Go Reds!

1 game back of what?

Maybe he meant 1 game below .500?

I did... typo. Settle down guys.:jump:

Not sure what your point it is but it is a fact. Only Doc Holladay has more wins than him in that time.

I like Toronto's team this year & they have exploited the Reds.

Hopefully we can escape with a win tomorrow. Cueto on the hill...

I wonder if Juan Pierre will be available when Manny returns?

Joe Torre re-iterated that Pierre will return to the 4th outfielder when Manny returns. I think Pierre will want out.

He's not exactly what the Reds are looking for, but he'd be cheap enough & could provide a spark. He's hitting .329 with 17 SB this season in just over 200 AB's.

The last six weeks or whatever has been Pierre's best stretch in years.

His OBP the last four seasons have been between .326 and .331 ... in other words, Taveras-esque. And that's with maybe the worst outfield arm in the majors, and he's not really a centerfielder anymore.

And he's owed about $23 million over the next 2 1/2 seasons. The Dodgers would love to find a team to take him off of their hands.

^ He still hit about .300 during those times which is a lot better than WT.
