It's Gremlins. Make sure not to leave any food out after midnight. Mogwai can become nasty little boogers if they eat after midnight.

There are maintenance people, but they only work Monday through Friday, we were only gone from Friday night to Saturday night, so they wouldn't have been on shift and it's unlikely they even saw us leave. Also, they are not given keys or allowed to enter without our notice and they can't go in without the landlord or office manager present. They would have to get the keys from the office manager and right now the office manager is on vacation in Rhode Island.

I'm going to start asking some of the neighbors if they have had anything similar happen. I just think it's odd that if someone took the time to break in, they wouldn't steal anything or put anything out of place.

This reminds me of Dane Cook's "B&E" segment...I know what you're thinking...bacon and eggs? noooooooo

If these things continue to happen and it's not the landlord, a drunk, or someone trying to get in, and if the camera doesn't show anything, send me a PM and I will put you in touch with a paranormal group that will help. Free of charge.

Actually, I didn't see the earlier post using the song until I had posted and I had to rescue what I had done. Oh, well, busted anyway. :idunno:

Well, it's happened again. Just a few moments ago, someone came to the door and without knocking, tried to turn the handle and open it. Luckily, the dead-bolt was locked. By the time I got up to see who it was, there was no one there; and whoever it was must have gotten out of the vicinity quick.

Set in the car and watch your door or something. You have to catch this guy or guys. Set up a camera before you change the locks. If you do catch them, still change your locks. Maybe a drug dealer had this apartment before you. How long have you lived there?

Going on two years now. If this continues, we will be moving out. Our lease expired about 10 months ago and we are just going month-to-month right now.

Might be moving to Buckner, KY in the future as well.

Any friends who might be messing with you?

I doubt it. I really don't have any friends that know where I live in Richmond. Not saying I don't have friends here, they just don't know where I live. Most of them live in Lexington and have never been to my place. Dang Lexington people always want you to come up there.

I would tell your landlord and call the cops. Someone else may be having this happen to them as well and if more than one person complains, they could have cops sit there all the time.

I used to live in Buckner, Ky.

I never thought about calling the cops, strangely enough, but MrsFF is right. I'd call them AND then tell the landlord. If he has something to do with it, it will almost certainly stop when you tell him that the cops have been notified.

Does it tend to happen around a certain time of night?
