June 21, 200917 yr I say get a camera and set up at your door, and change the locks...About all you can do short of moving out.
June 21, 200917 yr The camera you can do alot of different ways. If you have a lap top with a web cam you can even use that. I can set mine facing a certain direction and log into it from another location to see what's going on in that area when I'm not around.
June 22, 200917 yr Is there a "handy man" that could also have a key? Someone that works there that could know when you are gone and it could be safe to use the apartment for a while? Anyone at all that could be getting to the landlord's keys w/o their knowledge?
June 22, 200917 yr I would want a little more protection than a knife if all that crazy stuff was happening at my house. I'm not one of those crazy gun people but this seems like a good case for one. Never ever take a knife to a gun fight.

Anyone at all that could be getting to the landlord's keys w/o their knowledge? There are maintenance people, but they only work Monday through Friday, we were only gone from Friday night to Saturday night, so they wouldn't have been on shift and it's unlikely they even saw us leave. Also, they are not given keys or allowed to enter without our notice and they can't go in without the landlord or office manager present. They would have to get the keys from the office manager and right now the office manager is on vacation in Rhode Island. I'm going to start asking some of the neighbors if they have had anything similar happen. I just think it's odd that if someone took the time to break in, they wouldn't steal anything or put anything out of place.

Does the door to your apt face anyone elses?

June 22, 200917 yr If you live at the apartment complex that used to be called 'Mallgate' behind St. Matthews mall in Louisville, its haunted.
June 22, 200917 yr Author If you live at the apartment complex that used to be called 'Mallgate' behind St. Matthews mall in Louisville, its haunted. I don't, but would love to hear the story behind that.
