C Johnson vs Solomon Wilcots

Why even bother defending the guy? He doesn't deserve your support.

Neither does TJ, but I've never seen people get on here and blast him for every little stupid thing he does/says....

Agree to disagree on this one

That's pretty hard to do when it comes to CJ....

I'm not disagreeing, but can you give some examples? I don't pay enough attention to care, usually... Chad is just so accessible that I can't miss it.

Why is everone on his back? It's a business and he is entertaning. I would like to see some of you in his shoes...zzZZZ.

If I want to see entertainment like that, I'll go to the local comedy club. They're in the business to make money and win football games. He admittedly didn't help them win football games last season, and I'm not sure how many are paying 55-200 dollars a game just to watch his act.

Great post

I don't see anyway you can defend this clown.

I'm kind of late to this discussion, but I will personally always defend 8-5. The few times I have talked to him he has seemed like a great guy. Playing for an organization like the Bengals brings out the worst in everyone. He's not T.O.

As for him playing bad, he had a bad year. So what? Most players have one. Remember 2007-08, which was the season before last he set a Bengals single season receiving yardage record.

Chad is a winner IMO, thats why he does the things he does. There is no worse place to be in the NFL if you really want to win, and yes that includes the Lions. The Bengals are poorly run, and built nothing off the momentum they had a few seasons ago.

Why?

He is the best WR in the history of the Bengals and is statistically one of the best of all time.

Just because he is different doesn't make him a loser. The Bengals have plenty of losers, but I don't think Chad is one. If Wilcots is calling him out than Chad has every right to do the same to Wilcots. There is no comparison between the two has far as on the field talent. Chad had a MUCH better career.

Can't be said much better than this! People don't like Chad b/c he says what he feels and he is passionate. Like I have always maintained, when he comes out this year and has a great year, people will be right back on the CJ bandwagon, it happens all the time!

I agree 185%.:thumb:

The problem with Chad is that he has let his alter ego get the best of him, all the way to the point he had to change his name, it is almost sad. His latest media blitz and comments are nothing more than a PR stunt.

8-5 is a good receiver, not great, and he enjoys hearing himself. I am not going to make him out to be anything more than that until he proves me otherwise. Big numbers are wonderful, but a big reason he has put up some good numbers is because Cincy was forced to pass the ball so darn much being behind all the time. He is good for fantasy, but has yet to prove being valuable to the Bengals.

What's Chad Johnson ever won? Give me Curtis (the real 85), Collinsworth, TJ,and if we are including idiots, Pickens, before Gigante Idioto. Chad Johnson is a tool..

Chad's production is far superior to all of those you just named.

It is not the numbers I worry about, it is the intangibles he brings to the table for which I question. Best example is Tim Duncan. Guy's numbers are nothing spectacular, but when it comes down to winning games, he delivers. Whether it is Chad's fault or not the Bengals are not good, as the vocal self proclaimed leader of the Bengals, he has not proven much to me. Some guys are able to elevate an entire team by their presence.... I do not see that in him.

Valuable? He is one of the few players they have had over the past couple of years that was any good. Put Palmer with some scrubs and see how he does. Chad is one of the best recievers in the league, he's not Moss or Fitzgerald but he is in the upper class of WR in the NFL when he wants to play.

It all just sounds like an excuse. If the Bengals let go of Chad it would solve nothing, they wouldn't get any better. He is probably the only legit weapon they have on offense. The RB's are garbage, Housh is gone, etc.

Chad is easily one of the nicest, most down to Earth pro athletes I've met. The only one that I would say is better is Dhani Jones.
