I usually wear BGP gear, either a cap or shirt, to the basketball state tournament. I have done this since 2004. But for some reason I have met few BGP'ers: gold sunrise, BELL44, and UKPAT (not counting the one's from my county that I already know...(and recruited most of them as members). I've seen a couple more from a distance wearing BGP gear as well but didn't get the chance to speak to them.

Get togethers are great. I have met a ton of people and some I consider good friends (even though some people never leave Newport to hang out). When there is more, I highly suggest going. They are great fun.

That's how I got my gear. Some of the contests are so easy, it's nearly impossible to lose. Got two shirts in those "hard to lose" contests. Not a bad deal at all!

I looked around during spring break at the Cocoa Expo in Florida to see if I saw anybody wearing some of that stuff as there are several on here from NE KY. Greenup Co., Raceland, Russell, Ashland and I believe Boyd County were there as well as West Jess. and Scott Co. from down here. I never saw any BGP gear. (Of course, I'm so pitiful at picking games I'll probably have to buy some.)

My first experience with fellow BGP'ers was at a UofL Spring Game in '05 I believe... I was carrying my drum through PJCS, when I heard "HEY DEUCE!!" I was scared...Those few people I would now consider very good friends. :lol:

I met GoldSunrise when my son was playing football against GRC. I met NWO when he was playing against Madison Central. I had met JimSchue several years ago at a ballgame, and have known Les for years. I met 3wishes at a passing scrimmage several years ago. I worked with LC99 a few years ago. Boucher introduced me to BGP. All are good people.

 

BGP gear is a good way to identify each other at a game.

I have met many BGP, but in different ways. nWo I met while we were playing at Madison Central. We had PMed each other earlier and plan to meet at the game. I met a few posters at the All A this year....I had on my BGP t-shirt and they stopped me and we started to talk. I met several a few years back at the state football playoffs. Some at the Sweet 16 state tourney and some this year at the BKO. Also have met some during ball season when we play another team....usually we PM before and then meet at the game. Have even met some on the golf course. Some I have talked to on the phone...giving or receiving updates...but have never met yet in person...hope to in the future.

I can remember you saying gold that you knew right away who I was by all of the BGP gear I was wearing. :lol:
